My math SAT score was not high enough for this. Can somebody please just look up the answer in the back of the book and tell me what time the train has to leave Chicago and how many apples Susie has now?
As the great Inigo Montoya once said " Let me explain… No, there is too much. Let me sum up" '

Due to numbers magic and $ wizardry, all decks (except the mini), not just the red ultra, are now cold foiled on both sides. 8-)

167 is the key :D

Lol  Ok. Why do I know? Cartamundi had this procedure in the past when I printed other decks. They print custom decks once per month and need 1-1.5 months to finish. That's why they have a deadline. I tried to negotiate a week extension but failed. It's a good sign! I was told that decks are in production the next day after a deadline! Planning is key. Nov/2019-Jan 2020 downtime was an exception due to Covid/reorganization. BTW, they accepted No.7 on Feb/12 and finished in March as promised.
Ahem...

I don't need free decks, just proving a point :)

I would not send you a free deck anyway as I did not confirm this deal. I am not a gambler. I understand how production works, and I explained this in my post. That's it. There is nothing to prove. It's a purpose of Kickstarter of PRODUCING something instead of using it as a store. Production is always a challenging process. Everything will be alright!

Finally! Fulfillment started! All NZ backers received their rewards yesterday. AU/EU/UK/International fulfillment will be started next week. US fulfillment - after the 24th of May.

The reasons of the delay - gilding (explained in KS updates). Otherwise, decks were ready in December.

This weekend I'll open pre-orders.

Available bundles:

1. One of each (six decks) plus a half brick box. There will be 50-60 sets only!
2. Red ULTRA + Retro Premium + White Premium (+ a half brick box if you buy two of each)
3. Three Retro Premium + three White Premium + a half brick box
4. Retro Premium
5. White Premium
6. MINI? I am not sure.

EU friendly shipping: available

White/Retro gilded + Red Ultra (gilded) will never be sold individually. Also, White/Retro gilded are only available in the one of each bundle.

Prints: maybe next month (read KS updates).

I love everything in this project! And I love working with Cartamundi! They are my number one printer now! Quality first! Imagine, they printed the Red ULTRA decks THREE TIMES (gilding issues) !!!!! All other decks - twice!

I opened up one of my Ultra Red decks.  . Among everything else, playing with the edges and watching it transition from red foil to silver gilding and back to red foil is just mesmerizing. I don't think the photos do it justice. It is just odd, but I expect these kinds of decks from Montenzi.

Thank you! :P Enjoy! Yes, the Red ULTRA is my everyday deck and I do the same

p.s. I don't know why but 95% of photos are like this one - the back side of the box. Nothing wrong, but It's a puzzle to me. Do you expect the name of the deck on the front side of the box? It looks like I do the opposite as the name of the deck is not essential for me.

Yes, I do expect the name on the front. Plus it's not always easy to tell which deck is which with your designs. Not a criticism, just an observation.

Thank you! I understand now! :D Maybe in my next deck! But I have no idea how to add a name to the front for HT and No.7 decks.

I have a couple of possible solutions if I don't need a name on the front side:
  • Use 2pt font for a deck name
  • Hide the name of the deck inside
  • Make both sides identical and still hide the name inside
just kidding

Just got my decks and I am super happy. For some reason I thought these were going to be foiled only on one side so I was pleasantly surprised to see both sides of the cards foiled (once I put in a pledge, I kind of lose track of all the updates). I also love that Montenzi throws in extra tucks, that's a great bonus.

Yes, I did it after Kickstarter :D I found one good quote for multiple decks and decided to pay more to upgrade. Now all decks are with foil on both sides. But It does not mean that the cost of printing the Red Ultra deck is the same! No way  Boxes: Cartamundi printed a lot more boxes so I decided to give them away.

montenzi just gives so much value in his decks it is insane. Think what these decks would cost from any other creator...yeah a whole lot more. That doesn't even talk about the half brick boxes and extra tucks thrown it. Thanks Alex. I am loving these decks. So shiny I have to wear sunglasses when looking at them. 8-)

@Bradius, thank you. I agree, but It depends! You can easily set a retail price to $10 for a deck with foil or pay more than $20 to produce it. Or you can spend 5 EUR for a box or 1 EUR for the same box if you know how to save on production and logistics.

Premium/Gilded White and Retro decks were more expensive with shipping than The Eye Of The Ocean decks. The difference between one side foil vs. both sides is not significant, but the price depends on a print run and other features. It is hard to compare. Such decks are now $15-17 on Kickstarter. Overall, it's a bargain vs. standard decks with a 400-600% margin.

p.s. The Red deck is another story

Hey, everyone.

The weather here in Seattle has finally cooled down, and I finally took the time tonight (well, it's early morning now) to open up one of each of these bad boys.

Oh. Em. Gee.

The photos and renders above give you a pretty good idea of what these are like, but they still don't inspire the awe that these decks elicit when they are in your hands. Every single deck is simply a marvel to behold. The tuck boxes are not only beautiful; they *feel* awesome. The cards *smell* awesome, and the way the foil details catch the light is just breath-taking. They all handle great (natch; I mean, this *is* Cartamundi). The non-gilded decks fan perfectly out of the box; the gilded decks actually fan far better than most gilded decks I've ever handled. The pips! I love the red accents on the Spades and the Clubs. The Jokers!

These decks are *must have*. Just saying. If you missed out on the KS project, pick some up from Montenzi directly while you still can.

I added that to the list of decks to rescan. I have a setting for highly foiled cards that lightens them up to see the detail (see KWP Sherlock Holmes or Gold Certificate as an example) . On these there are slight highlights in the red that I wanted to pick up that wouldn't show up on a standard color profile.. Glad you like the scans and thx for the heads up abt the color. I will see if I can adjust the curves to get the bg color right as well. Awesome decks, I really love the history that is behind this style of art.
