Re: C R Y P T -Mystery deck n.3
What behavior? Condemning an action that's against the will of the artist and the majority of buyers of that art is an act of bullying? You have a very interesting definition of bullying.
What about concealing the number so that the poster will no be potentially blacklisted? What about deleting the initial post then creating another (or several other) account(s) to continue to spoil the art and troll the community? Let's say you went to a theater to watch a movie, then right after exiting the venue, you yelled to the people queuing for the next screening that "IRON MAN DIED AT THE END! HAHA! THANOS GOT SNAPPED! HAHA!" Then you got jumped.
Guess you'd say you got bullied, according to your logic.

Here, I'm going to respond to your original question with a screen I took when you deleted it.
That's the real question wanted to ask, that's why you did it. It didn't fit your "narrative" so you deleted it and went with this latest one. Misdirection is fun sometimes. This that you enjoy however I disagree with.
That's my logic. I think it's interesting that you need to be taught this.

Say what you like, but what I've highlighted in green is, again, YOUR WAY of misleading the audience. I'm actually glad that you screenshotted my since deleted comment, because it quite honestly reflects what I've said has been consistent since the start and I've only added more to point out the strangeness of your argument. Instead, what are you trying to jump at with the green? Continue to story-tell, Candyman, as you always do when people don't agree with you.Fes wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 3:11 pm Here, I'm going to respond to your original question with a screen I took when you deleted it.

Irony over 9,000. Those who pretend to care about Lotrék's beautiful creation are the ones who are mudding the water with post like this:
Finest vocabulary used like in late 1930s in Germany and a strange fixation on the assumed genitalia of someone who posted pictures of a deck of playing cards. Everyone who wants to take side with people like this is free to associate. I'll move on and wait for Codex .
Fun fact: the user on reddit got banned due to report abuse and guess what? Is unbanned now because there is no violation of reddit or subreddit rules. So nothing achieved except for wasting the time of the mods of r/playingcards. Slow claps for y'all who reported.

Honestly though, the pic you posted was a huge overreaction. But also the person who stole the photos off Instagram and spoiling the deck for new buyers is a huge dick. It's possible for multiple people to be wrong here

Re: C R Y P T -Mystery deck n.3
It's quite dangerous to paint anyone who disagrees with posting the deck online as a direct associate of this name-caller. What you're contributing with this screenshot is a bilateral split for the community, a suggestive either-or scenario. The fact is, you and Fes are right, you see this side of things and plea to differ from such behavior. Though IN FACT as well, you think you're so right to the extent you start asking that everyone SHOULD just pass this off and STFU, mind their own business, and if not, are a-holes like this dude.Harvonsgard wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 3:59 pm Irony over 9,000. Who says showing criticism means there aren't other ways? Can't others who share the love for this deck make a point and question the poster's motivation? I for one have no reddit account and have never seen this type of comment before, not to even mention reporting the post. As you've proposed, I've minded my own business and passed it off; doesn't mean I'd agree and say it's ok. Still disappointed seeing someone revealing it on other platforms. So I came here, UC, expecting to see the reaction from this community, only to see some justifying the post by some strange consumer-first narrative and crusading on others who hoped that the post was condemned and taken down (like your "respect/disrespect" comment towards @shkorc).
To be fair, I went way back to check Fes' post and he was talking specifically about the act of "reporting," to which NO ONE HERE had mentioned. I was talking about the comment and report function free of use on all platforms in comparison and similar to the same "free-to-post" criterion argued by Fes, evidence provided here:
So there you go, problem solved. Phenomenon on Reddit is taken out of context and posed as a problem here on UC, which leaves too much room for misunderstanding. I'm leaving this here with no intention to escalate the trouble, just responding to your potential stigmatizing the perspective from where I'm coming (i.e. suggesting that we are no different from the person who made that comment).Decknowledgy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 8:18 pm So, judging by the same logic being defended above, anyone who paid and purchase a DVD or Blue-Ray of a film holds the right to freely distribute and upload the film entirely online, be it public domains like YouTube, Vimeo, etc. then?
...
So speaking of freedom of use after purchase, yeah, anyone can go ahead and post if they like. Yet, since Instagram has the report and comment function, according to the same "Rights to free use" criterion, people who don't like it have the right to detest, condemn, and report such an action.
Done and would respond no more to this nonsense. Back to the deck, shall we?

Re: C R Y P T -Mystery deck n.3
The Blu-Ray example is stupid and you know that - textbook strawman. Plus fell free to share opinions and judgements.
All I'm personally saying is that it is ironic to bring the negativity into the thread of something you pretend to care for.
I'm not stigmatizing anyone. Get over it. If I call out people overreacting then don't feel addressd if you did not overreact.
And my comment towards shkorc is neither crusading nor antagonising. I simply used it as a general reminder that you can only demand what you're willing to give. That's an universal truth - nothing more, nothing less. I get it, that it is a jest and I personally don't mind it and even am able to laugh about a little jab towards someone I don't even know. But that does not take away from what I said.
This thread could have rested in peace and stay hidden behind the aweful search function (sorry for the jab admins I love UC) of this forum but oh no, people have to constantly post links to leaks and keep bringing it up. The best secret is the one nobody talks about .

There is btw nothing suggestive. You explicity sided (as in incentivising by clicking thanks - reminder below) with folks that use said vocabulary. I know that you're pretty young so I'll cut you some slack for being emotional quite some time. But maybe next time check what is written before virtually siding with folks. If you would have seen the posts and comments in question on reddit you would know that Adonael is straight up making stuff up in his comments here.Decknowledgy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 13, 2020 5:29 pmIt's quite dangerous to paint anyone who disagrees with posting the deck online as a direct associate of this name-caller. my two cents... who give a shit. It was bound to end up out there eventually. Dont let things you can't control ruin your day. I do agree that people trying to dox this guy and go after him need to get a life
Edit* You guys should watch the "Catching Hell" documentary on Steve Bartman who caught the foul ball at the Cubs playoff game. It will really make you think of the repercussions of mob mentality bullying.

Passions can cause poor reactions. It's not always our best day and it's easy to over look things in the heat of the many wrong moments. Today seems like that kind of day. I'll help you, again. No need for a screen shot this time. The irony here is that the photos probably wouldn't get (re)posted as much as they have been if some people didn't react like they did. Don't feed the trolls.

Re: C R Y P T -Mystery deck n.3
Wow, it's great to see CRYPT still being able to create such strong emotions! That's the purpose of art after all, right?
Some of my thoughts:
1) I requested the deck to remain secret because I believe (and those who loved it agree) that the opening and gradual approaching of the deck is part of the experience that makes it special. There is a strong WTF factor in it which remains till the end, going from "so what" to "OMG" (at least for the vast majority of people). There is a narrative in Crypt around which I built the deck. This required secrecy. By revealing it, one simply demonstrates how idiot s/he is. Just like Decknowledgy said, it's the guy who saw the movie and goes around shouting what happens in the end. It's not illegal but it's pathetic. Just because you ruin other people's experience, not because you "disobey the artist".
2) Am I angry? No. Idiots and disrespectful people exist just like storms and earthquakes. You cannot be angry because the summer is over. Sad, yes.
3) Let's not forget that I never said that "I forbid" pictures to be shown. Neither was anyone required to sign accepting any terms. I just wanted to see how many people -and for how long- would respect a very reasonable request considering the nature of the deck. I was hoping that it would at least last for 1-2 weeks. 3 months in the social media era is just amazing. This shows how great backers you all are, regardless of whether you consider this guy as a subhuman or as just someone who excercises their right.
Let's move on. Great things are to come.

Thanks for an entertaining social experiment, Lotrek. I am glad I got to experience the project as it was intended before the idiots and disrespectful people showed up on the scene. Three months is a modern miracle! If you are moving on, so am I. Cheers and let's see Harvest and Codex already!

Comparing a deck of playing cards to a motion picture is one of the dumbest attempted analogies I've ever witnessed. I can't imagine being so triggered over something so trivial.

Well deserved. I am surprised since only a few of those decks were even made and some people, like me, have several Crypt decks. That said, those of us that do have the deck...it is an easy choice for DOTY. At least it was for me.
Congrats Lotrek.

That quite supports the theory that most of the bots with randomly generated Russian names voted only in a single category just to be included in the giveaways and thus, fortunately, haven't affected the outcome of the DOTY award, That or those votes were manually removed in last few days by Alex. I would really love to hear the story.

Congratulations, Lotrek!
I'll be honest, I can't actually remember who I voted for as I went in blind and took my time to consider each vote.

Re: C R Y P T -Mystery deck n.3
So I looked into it. The giveaway has been a huge UC thing so I think that's what everyone here is distracted on. But the giveaways were only announced in a single post midway through. We hyped it with a banner for the live after the voting closed but realistically there was only 1 mention of it within the voting window itself. All the "Russian votes" were for Dark Kingdom before announcing the giveaway. Looks like she had friends/supporters come to vote which I think is fine.masagin303 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 3:31 am That quite supports the theory that most of the bots with randomly generated Russian names voted only in a single category just to be included in the giveaways and thus, fortunately, haven't affected the outcome of the DOTY award, That or those votes were manually removed in last few days by Alex. I know the popular vote is a point of contention but that's what a true democracy is. I love the CRYPT deck and even voted for it myself, but that being said it was a blind vote for many. It achieved success because Lotrek was popular enough to have an already existing base within the voting pool and I think that's totally ok as well.

Re: C R Y P T -Mystery deck n.3
If there were real people behind the votes then it's totally o.k. by me. I was a bit skeptical because it seemed every single one of them had so neatly filled their complete names in the profile, no nicknames and such. So I was a bit suspicious that those were generated.IAmTheChin wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 2:22 pm All the "Russian votes" were for Dark Kingdom before announcing the giveaway. Looks like she had friends/supporters come to vote which I think is fine.

NO WAY. Don't get me wrong, I love my Dark Kingdom deck and it undoubtedly deserves to be included as part of the best of the year. HOWEVER, I personally think that Jackson got absolutely robbed in the best joker category and if she had a horde of friends blindly voting for her, well I guess that makes sense in my head. I'd love to know how close that vote was.IAmTheChin wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 2:22 pmAll the "Russian votes" were for Dark Kingdom before announcing the giveaway.masagin303 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 3:31 am That quite supports the theory that most of the bots with randomly generated Russian names voted only in a single category just to be included in the giveaways and thus, fortunately, haven't affected the outcome of the DOTY award, That or those votes were manually removed in last few days by Alex. I would really love to hear the story.

Re: C R Y P T -Mystery deck n.3
Sorry for exhuming this thread ( ) but I am curious if there were any reports of counterfeit Crypt decks ever being sold on Ebay or elsewhere? I figured it would be inevitable with the request not to share images and the high price this deck commands in the aftermarket. Just a curiosity I had! Cheers
