BOLD
Hi!
I'm going to launch a new "solo" project on July 21st. The name is Bold. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/elettrad/bold
It consists of 2 decks: Bold Standard (or Regular ) + Bold Collector's Edition. Both will be printed by USPCC. As for the box of the Collector's Edition with its special features, I am considering various manufacturers.
I haven’t shown so much 'til now, especially of the luxury edition - so these are kinda absolute previews
I'll share some court cards and the back design to start. N.B. The one on the right is metallic ink.
I hope @MagikFingerz will help if I did something wrong

Re: BOLD
Hmm... not my cup of tea to be honest. Colour scheme indeed Meadowlark vibes and some similarities in court style aswell, which isn't bad but as written, not my prefered style.
On playing cards I tend to like thinner line work.

I agree, that's the first thing I thought of. Still, I like it. Might be a little on the simple side, but I like it.Harvonsgard wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 8:32 am Color scheme indeed Meadowlark vibes and some similarities in court style as well
I've spent way more than I care to admit on playing cards, but I'll still buy just about anything that Lorenzo, Jackson, or Gio make.

Re: BOLD
Unfortunately this reminded me too much of Medowlark so I really wasn't able to get any enthusiasm going. Nice deck though.

Re: BOLD
Thank you @Decknowledgy I tend to use very very thin lines, so working with bold lines was actually one of the most challenging parts to meThose are definitely some bold lines! Beautiful!!
Thanks!will certainly pick up a couple, looks simple ( tho im sure it wasnt to design ), different, definitely a must have for me....

As for the vibes... Maybe the Meadowlark deck is just recent and successful (so it’s stuck in your head)? Honestly, I've focused very much on Bicycle courts as a reference for the faces, but who knows... I mean: vibes are something very personal, I guess, and obviously I totally respect your point of view in any case.
In short: Who am I for judging your vibes!
De gustibus Thank you for joining the discussion anywayHmm... not my cup of tea to be honest. Colour scheme indeed Meadowlark vibes and some similarities in court style aswell, which isn't bad but as written, not my prefered style.

Happy you like it Simple is not bad to me in this caseI agree, that's the first thing I thought of. Still, I like it. Might be a little on the simple side, but I like it.
I'll answer the second sentence (the glass half full?). Thank youUnfortunately this reminded me too much of Medowlark so I really wasn't able to get any enthusiasm going. Nice deck though.

Change that icon in the middle of the back design.

Re: BOLD
I'd probably get these if I could afford backing anything at the moment, but I can't.
Is it foil on the tuck box or the cards?

Re: BOLD
I'm curious if there will be a double backer in the deck. I'm counting up the number of !'s each deck will hold, with tucks of course. 2,200 !'s per deck with two jokers, if there is a double backer though. . . oh that changes things.
I guess I'll have to look in on the campaign page to find out!

Re: BOLD
I'm sorry @MagikFingerz. For what it's worth, I'm trying to keep the prices as low as possible for this first solo campaign.MagikFingerz wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2020 10:45 am I'd probably get these if I could afford backing anything at the moment, but I can't.

The foil is on the box, whereas the inner cards will be printed with 3 Pantone colors + gold metallic ink. This applies only to the Deluxe edition of course.
@Fez perbacco, I had never thought about it! I'll be indiscrete because this thing is funny... the deck will include an extra card for sureI'm curious if there will be a double backer in the deck. Re: BOLD
Me not affording anything has more to do with rising shipping prices and having to pay customs fees on everything I order now, neither of which is under your control, so don't worry about me
Metallic ink is good too, I'll be putting these on my wishlist!

I love it!
Nope, don't look anything like an f. At least to my eyes.
If it must look like a Letter then it looks like an S.

Re: BOLD
Thank you so much, @Fes!!! Also I'm glad you like Mr. Bold
As for the "f", you and Harvonsgard are right: that's not an "f" at all, indeed. It belongs to the Mathematical language and it's the integral symbol.
I'm not a mathematician of course, but Leibniz considered the so-called "integral" as the infinite sum of infinitesimal addends. The symbol I used is so based on a long "s", as the first letter used by Leibniz for writing "summa/somma" (the Latin for "sum") talking about integrals.
For short, it's the integral symbol in the Bodoni typeface.
@Ice_Panda That's something great to hear, thanks!!! Honestly, I love this community and I feel very grateful to those of you supporting meI am in on this as well. I like the artist I am glad she is doing her own decks

Feck it I backed, just to help see if I could help out. Kinda did feel similar to Meadowlark but the simplicity grew on me.
