Shark Playing Cards by RiffleShuffle

Unread post by vasta41 »

Beware, the Sharks are here! The Shark playing card is inspired by the king of the seas - The Great White Shark. The designer Andrian Valenzuela extended the Shark's body throughout the sides of the box as if it was lurking out of the deep ocean.

The Shark Playing Card is the third deck of our animal series. Limited to 2500 Decks. No reprints. Printed by United States Playing Card Co with Premium Bee Casino Stock.

Don't even know what the court cards are supposed to mean, and this came out the same time, if not later, than the Low-Poly Shark.

The courts are the same generic ones like on that RS owl deck and the fox deck, just a different colour scheme.

It seems I either really like RS releases or I dislike them strongly. Nothing in between.

That's me 😅. The list of I like is short though - Scirocco 🤷🏿‍♀️.

This is clearly pushing the limits of design to the extreme. It's too forward thinking for me to come to grips with. Simply put it's beyond me, so I am not the target audience. I'm glad it exists for those who are the target audience though.

I think you'll know if you're the target audience instantly when you see this deck. You'll likely think, "Where have these been all my life? I love this deck! Only 2,500 copies!!! *panic*". If that is you. You are a truly wonderful person. We all, each and every one one us, love you. Life is your oyster, good things. ;)
TL:DR It's completely up to you.
We can still be friends.
I actually like playing cards.
We live in interesting times.

I liked the Watcher (Owl) and Fox decks, and would have considered picking this one up except for the text. Why did they feel the need to plaster SHARK on it? I know what it is. The others didn't say OWL or COKED-UP LOW-POLY FOX and I could figure it out.

I agree that Riffle Shuffle designs are super hit-or-miss. I /really/ like some of them, and then there's others that leave me scratching my head. But I guess variety is good, and if people are buying them, great.
