Re: Untitled deck inspired by Hieronymus Bosch
Love MC Escher so it works except for the "fire circle" in center. Drew my attention immediately. Seems out of place. Liked your empty criss crossed stairs in draft picture better.
Move on, nothing to see here.

Re: Untitled deck inspired by Hieronymus Bosch
The fire is from the mouth of a dragon- a creature seen in Bosch's works.
Anyways, I don't feel it makes a good card back and going back to the drawing board. I will use this one as an extra card.

Re: Untitled deck inspired by Hieronymus Bosch
I think that a back that looks like a very ornate art frame (perhaps mostly in black and gold) with just a fairly simple image (done in 2-way design) within the frame, would look really sharp and provide a nice contrast to the continuing image/transformational style of the face of the cards.
I'm talking about a big thick frame that uses a lot of the real estate on the back of the card, with just a simple 2-way image in the middle. Something like this (just the frame, use Bosch-apporopriate art obviously):

Re: Untitled deck inspired by Hieronymus Bosch
Good idea @Scottbre. I was going with a classic card back with elements taken from Bosch's works like (Owl, tree man etc.), will try the above one too.
The only issue with the above one is that print doesn't give full justice to the vision of such a large frame. Case in point is Uusi's Hyde Park deck, the card back looks good on screen but a bit different &dull when you see it in your hands.

Yea. You'd probably have to push the black aspects of the frame image a bit more so that there is plenty of detail and contrast on the back of the card. The examples I posted are mostly gold and you'd need a more even mix of the two contrasting colors to make it look good.guru wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 10:52 pm Good idea @Scottbre. Re: Untitled deck inspired by Hieronymus Bosch
I love the idea of an art deck like this, Sunish. Ben Jones' "Pipmen World" deck is one of my all-time favourites. This will have a similar appeal, but your deck stands very much on its own, since it has totally different style of art that is truly creative and unique.
Judging from the images you've shared so far, you will be making another top-notch contribution to the playing card industry with this project, Sunish. Bravo, and keep up the great work!

Thanks @EndersGame for the kind comments. As discussed, this could be my last decks and so it needs to be a masterpiece. It will again be a single deck, no variants similar to Mythos.

Re: Untitled deck inspired by Hieronymus Bosch
It has been planned last year but Mythos puzzle box took its own time & then COVID happened. Side gigs take their own time, energy and I got very busy lately. Having blessed with a daughter late last year, I am just looking to shut down my all side gigs & hobbies while focussing more on the family. Bosch was thought of as a last deck from Guru PCC, but then, even Mythos could not be released because of some technical issues in the puzzle box which have just now been resolved. Let's see when these get to market now.

Glad you want to focus on family, very important. Will miss this side gig of yours.guru wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 9:49 amIt has been planned last year but Mythos puzzle box took its own time & then COVID happened. I can completely respect and understand that. Nothing more exciting then having children!guru wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 9:49 amIt has been planned last year but Mythos puzzle box took its own time & then COVID happened. Any feedback?
Should I be doing something to make the tuck non-NSFW.

All that bare flesh...
Personally I'd prefer not seeing NSFW content on the tuck, and would like something family-friendly that I wouldn't be afraid to have on display or to have guests take a look at.

Re: Untitled deck inspired by Hieronymus Bosch
Here is a fix but frankly it just takes away something from art as a whole.
Looking to sit over it for at least a few days and then decide which option should be the way to go.

I agree with RichK, nudity is an integral part of Bosch's work and I still think it should stay but I respect EndersGame's view on it.

Re: Untitled deck inspired by Hieronymus Bosch
My two cents: It's inspired by, so it doesn't have to follow Bosch exactly.
My stance on nudity though, it's a natural state of human beings, nothing to be scared or shy about.

Re: Untitled deck inspired by Hieronymus Bosch
What's the planned launch date Sunish?
I have an article about Guru Playing Cards that I'll be publishing within the next week, so I can include the link if it's launched before then; otherwise I can hold off a week if necessary.
