Infinite Rule Luxury Playing Cards (Relaunch) / KS

Unread post by Decknowledgy »

Edit: the cards are printed by USPCC.
The art is fantastic I would say!

"Infinite Rule is an original set of luxury playing cards illustrated and designed by Andy Sundblad and produced by the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC)."

I also see the US Playing Card Company on the front of the box. Top right of the spade.

I like the art on this one.

The prices for such a deck almost appear too good to be true. O_o

This one checks all the boxes for me. Custom pips and more-than-standard custom courts. Metallic ink, tuck embossing, foil, USPCC. I love the artwork and it has a very Vanda vibe to it, which is great. I definitely hope it funds and even unlocks the other deck, but 25k is gonna be a real stretch. Best of luck to this designer!

LOVE the courts but it ends there for me. I don't like the one-way back and the tuck is simply meh. But what I dislike most of all is how bold and colorful the courts and aces are but how devoid of color the pips are. They look like they don't belong here at all.

I agree with Paul, especially in regards to the pips, which do not fit with the courts at all. That being said, some simple tweaks and this could be a really nice deck.

+1 for Paul from me as well.
Deck would look better if the creator would just go with the same pips like he uses for the indices in the corner. Those just outline pips don't work for me either.

I don't like the blank space on the back design. Feels empty, imo. Could use some details. While i don't have a problem with one-way backs, the pips should be placed differently. Switching the heart and spade pip would balance the back much better.

Deck prices are pretty, needs less negative space though. Courts , pips meh, cool but meh. Back des is one sided... making it a maybe if it were a better deck. Needs some small touches and would be gold.

Not a fan of those hollow pips. Not a bad deck, but there is just too much empty real estate on the card.

Courts are great except for the shade lines on the Queens. Looks like they need to shave.

Back very bland too.

I don't get how he can relaunch with a lower pledge goal by more than half for the same end product? Greedy first time? I don't know...

Yes plus using Backerkit too. I don't know how he'll afford the $6000 minus KS, AoP, and Backerkit fees to print.

Instead of fixing the flaws, he just lowered the funding goal? Interesting. I would go the other route but maybe that's just me.
Maybe he won the lottery and is now able to self fund a bigger chunk.

I've never been fond of this style card back. No, I'm not all up ons with the misc goods deck that does similar either. I don't think I have any version of that in my collection and if I do, I have no idea how it got there. Maybe I'll check later, probably not. I think the card back is what has held this back for folks, I don't know though. I can only ever speak for me.

Courts look like they're done by someone CPC used to use and that's not a bad thing at all. Some of these weapons just don't make sense in the most wonderful way. I mean come on look at that thing the QoH has, what even is that thing? I don't actually care I just know I like it because it makes me smile, great corn! The KoC has a shield is he being a chicken or just damned smart? Probably a vanity thing, all "look at my coat of arms. Aren't I the dandy king!" Spades mixing up styles of pokies with the QoS using Sai's and jack being the steadfast would be halberdier. It's a polearm son, it needs the pole! This is just fun stuff and it makes me smile I mean come on, look at the diamonds! They can't hold those things up yet there they are forever locked in struggle with a smile. Would have been great if they'd added some sweat spots in the art.

The aces aren't bad, the pips are nicely designed and the indices are good. The tuck is a little strange to me. The card backs are golden wheat colored. Head scratching on the choice of colors on the tuck, maybe tieing in on the aces? Less dominant than the card back. The tuck to deck is a "meh" on continuity for me. I get wanting bold colors on the tuck, use them more heavily on the deck so they're friends though. I like what I see just fine sans the card back and tuck. I feel like these are weakness and fairly sizable taking into account everything else and the efforts there.

The shipping here is decent. This is what had me take a stand and back this campaign. :)
Some of the other campaigns of late should take notice, of course they probably won't as it seems they like gouging folks. I won't call those campaign out, they know who they are.
TL:DR It's completely up to you.

You may want to consider getting off the fence, if you're on it. These courts are a treat.

The lack of communication from the creator is making me nervous. I'm seriously thinking about cancelling my pledge before the deadline in 4 hours.

Wow! Although it shows he last logged in on Aug 10, his last comment was 30 days ago and there have been no updates whatsoever.
Thanks for the heads-up. I cancelled my pledge.

Dang, I wish I would have seen this earlier, I would have cancelled too. Too late now, as the campaign just ended and the collected my pledge. Thankfully, I am in only for $20.

I back too many projects and do not keep a good enough watch on how they progress.
