Hi fellow magicians/card enthusiasts!
Just thought I would make a post so people would know of my arrival. I have been using this site for many months but have only recently made an account. I am mainly a card magician but also dabble in coin magic. I am most interested in gimmicks but am just as proficient with a normal deck of cards!
To make this topic a little more creative than just me introducing myself, I thought we could share what gimmick you like the best. I think the Invisible Deck is the best gimmick because it has an affordable price, anyone can do it with a few minutes of practice, and the responses one can get from it with good patter are equal to or greater than any other gimmicked trick I own. Hopefully from your answers I can uncover some old but clever gimmick I have not yet stumbled upon!

What is the problem for you?Magic_Orthodoxy wrote:welcome...

The hardest part for me is remembering what side of the box I have to open. There are many ways to "stack" the cards and my personal favorite is evens on 1 side, odds on the other with the highest trump cards (spades and hearts) together and lower trump cards (clubs and diamonds) together. You just have to practice which side is has odds and which has evens a few times before you perform. You can always take an occasional glance if you forget.
A lot of magicians say that getting the face down card to show is suspicious because you have to "un-stick" it from the face up card and the audience can see the move, but this is entirely false. I have never been caught removing the stuck cards from eachother.
If your problem is getting the cards to stay 100% invisible other than the selected card you may need a new invisible deck. With a decent amount pressure you should never have a problem. This is my go-to trick if I want to impress someone.
