Jerry's Nugget Rose Ed. by Riffle Shuffle
So, I wonder how many of us still consider Expert reviving the Jerry's Nugget brand name was a good idea?
Thinning the value of an iconic brand by maxing out on reprints, recolors, and authorized rework by other producers. The JN legacy is about gone by now.

Hey, don't knock it. Gotta have something for the ladies and those who like softer colors.
Plus EPCC will get their royalty % regardless.

It's the old discussion where I would say there is no good/bad or anything like that, only personal preferences.
It's like Star Wars fans complaining about new Star Wars movies. All just in their heads; I'd like to quote the Wolf of Wall Street here - It's all just fugasi, fairey dust.
Value is always subjective. There is not really a watering down, just feelings/images that are changing in the heads of folks. The market prices of the OG Jerry's are still the same so if we can take that for an indicator. The name is more out there and the amount of decks with that name rises yah, but OG stays OG. No matter what.
Furthermore, nobody complaines (or at least I didn't read/heard something) about the recent Heritage series from USPC or the Dan and Dave reissues of old Bicycle backs. All antique/vintage collector's I know are always in favor for reissues since they like the designs and want to bring them to our period.

Bill Kalush/EPCC owns currently the liscence from the Jerry's Nuggets casino.PiazzaDelivery wrote:Am I missing something here? @expertpcc but it's printed by USPCC?

It was already a collab between the two giants when the 2019 reprint came out, also printed by USPCC. It's the name of the JN brand that pulled things together. But now it feels like the current name is being exploited in all sorts of way, of course, in comparison to the inactivity in the last 40-50 yrs. Of course, the OG decks persist but not that much public interest anymore, definitely.PiazzaDelivery wrote:Am I missing something here? @expertpcc but it's printed by USPCC?

Re: Jerry's Nugget Rose Ed. by Riffle Shuffle
I agree that these reprints devalue the OG JN's. It's comparable to blue monarchs v1 or s&m v4 with or without seal. The true amateurs of the decks will still be looking for those original versions, but the majority are happy with just being able to see the deck and have them in hand. So why bother paying 50-100 for a deck while I could have almost exactly the same one for 5 times less. Before those reprints the only way of owning a JN and seeing those cards was getting an OG deck. That's gone. But still, for JN's, the OG were such an institution in the collectors community 10-15y ago, I still enjoy having them/looking for them ones because it reminds me of that period. (And I'm still in search for a red OG so if anyone would have one, let me know
)

Dan and Dave are selling some. No cello and slightly dinged at a not so much devalued, still inflated $300 price tagMSimonart wrote:(And I'm still in search for a red OG so if anyone would have one, let me know)

If you roam around r/Playingcardsmarket on reddit there is a clown that constantly trys to sell his nuggets there. He offers at the $300-500 range depending on condition. Hope that helps; best of luck hunting.

You just missed a chance... Doc's Playing Cards had six of them on their site yesterday for $250 a piece, minor corner dings, sold out in a flash...MSimonart wrote:I agree that these reprints devalue the OG JN's. Thanks, yeah I had seen both your suggestions, price tag a little too high, looking to spend 250-300USD on perfect condition with cello. To get back on topic, the pink is not my style, just red and blue JN is enough for me. Don't need JN to become like fontaine to be honest.Harvonsgard wrote:Dan and Dave are selling some.
