Wow. A deck of Fontaines that I actually like. Weird....
I've spent way more than I care to admit on playing cards, but I'll still buy just about anything that Lorenzo, Jackson, or Gio make.

Anyone who actually buys Fontaines must quite braindead...

I like the font and style of the pips and indices though.

Re: Fontaine x Braindead
I hate that one-way skull. If it were two-way I'd consider for its interesting color scheme.
BTW, it's sold out already, so lots of braindead sheep out there

Re: Fontaine x Braindead
Hey hey hey, as much absolutely warranted hate as we give Fontaine, can we at least give them props for customizing something?
OMG IT'S NOT STANDARD was my gut reaction. I mean, it's still disgusting, but hey, merit where its due.

Re: Fontaine x Braindead
Which ones are they, pray tell. The only ones I would consider decent are Chinatown and RipnDip; but are overpriced for what you can get for $15 these days. The rest are just recolours or JAB jobs.Harvonsgard wrote:Who is we? I love me some good fontaine decks.
I also thought that the pips and indicis looked nice until I saw the courts. [MURRAY]
This is one time where I wish for standard courts! Braindead is right and you must be infected with Microtechnology to pay $20 for that deck.

Re: Fontaine x Braindead
Tastes differ. If you ask me which are good fontaines, I'd say Carrots, Good Co, Chinatown, Ripndips, and these as well. Love the colour of Watermelons, Pink, Sleights and Wine.
I totally get when collectors dismiss them. For me there is only two criterias that matter, does it appeal to me and what do they cost. I don't care if only JAB or recolour. Me likey, me getty. Simple as that. ! These one are to steep for me atm, so no getty.

How are they sold out already?
The one way design is a turn off but it was interesting. I would pass but it's sold out already, jesus they must have some rabid fans.

Re: Fontaine x Braindead
Impossible that they are not profiting by plugging their decks during BLM. Unless they show proof that they have donated the EXACT amount of their profit, or else I call this fraudulent marketing.

Re: Fontaine x Braindead
As mentioned elsewhere, I'm not a fan of most of Zach's behaviour lately as well and I most certainly don't share his political views but it feels like witch hunting for calling this fraudulent.
His business practices are fooling the simple minded and are not to my favour as well but aren't fraudulent.
He posted a lot of donating money lately - which he can of course always cancel behind the scene but what is there to gain for him? The publicity he gets and the support by BLM folks is priceless and he already has a shitload of money so why should he risk that? He doesn't need the monetary gain and again, the clout he gains from this promotion is priceless and will secure him bigger financial gains in the future.
Michael Jordan via Jordan Brand is going to give 100 Million to BLM associated charity do you doubt that as well? I don't. And why? Because through this publicity stunt Jordan will make easily 500 Mill in return because kids are going to love his shoes even more. The same will happen with fontaine on a smaller but still very profitable scale.
While not supporting it, I for my part have no doubt that he'll donate exactly 100% of the profits.
