I always, ALWAYS appreciate a custom design that has some real thought involved. It's clear you have put a great deal of thought into your design. That being said, I think the deck might be over-conceptualized and the artwork isn't polished enough for my picky taste.
The artwork needs to be refined, I am sure, but my main issue is with the concept: does this theme need to be discussed on a deck of playing cards? It's a bold statement and a rather uncomfortable truth to consider as you play Go Fish with your daughter or Texas Hold 'Em with the guys. The theme doesn't really mesh with the title of Faith, in my opinion. The artwork conveys a pattern: you get pushed off the edge, then climb back up; you get pushed off the edge, then climb back up; lather, rinse, repeat. It speaks more to resilience than Faith. Considering the pattern, the person's "faith" that it won't happen again is seen as naive or even ignorant.
To me, this deck is sending mixed messages. Are you condemning the government for oppressing its people while highlighting the resilience of the oppressed? Or are you implying the people will keep climbing with the hope their government will save them by replacing the corrupt? It brings me back to my main question: why a deck of cards as opposed to another medium? I don't see how this whole concept will come together in a deck so I will be watching this thread to see how it develops.
Greetings
My fellow friend, I understand it’s showing a bit of confusion for you guys but I didn’t explain the full story because I have the face cards - the tuck box - the joker to show you also. I will explain the confusion about the difference between giving hope for the people to believe in the government and fighting, surviving, having faith is a Totally different thing. First, I need to say don’t overthink, the design after a lot of work this was the best to make simple and trying to deliver an idea this is art and not a book talking about a story and I’m not trying to publish a story or make conflicts about anything. That being said I need you to understand that all I want people to gain from this deck is faith, to have faith in themselves and this will lead to make you a better and stronger person my intentions are positive not negative.
Concerning the characters and being pushed from a cliff, it’s not showing that being pushed over and over again that would’ve been represented in a totally different way. It shows someone being pushed off a cliff and then climbing back up/I mentioned the characters weren’t finished so when they are you will understand more, I started off by saying that it’s unfinished work and tried to be clear about everything, sorry if I confused you, I must have explained more.
Thank you for your point I’m considering explaining everything later after everything is finished
