A bicycle deck, with a color change? And everyone is just jumping for joy over it? Just because it's $10? Am I missing something?

The jokers are... Oh my god. And the cardback?> just a rectangle border on the outside?

This kind of stuff makes me feel insane. This deck does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to further the evolution or exploration of playing cards. It is a standard suit, standard font, recolored rider back. And not a very visually inventive one either. Let's all jump for joy.

Wow!! I'm being flamed by the Galaxy / Flowers / Alien Stink guy!!!
I feel honored. Just because a deck uses planets or badly drawn flowers (I still can't believe the flower artist went to the Academy of Art, my alma mater!), it doesn't make them innovative. They actually have to be done tastefully and have SOME semblance of design to accomplish that.

The goal with the UC deck design was to create a visually interesting representation of the UC forum. It may look simple to the untrained eye, but anyone who knows design and Photoshop will recognize the small details and work/skill that went into it. The intent was to create a tasteful and minimal design that would appeal to many. Seeing as a lot of forum people had pre-ordered before the KS project became active and the project is doing very well even without the forum "push" out of the gates, it looks like it's accomplished that intent!

I wish Alien Stink all the luck in the world with their current, soon to be cancelled and relaunched KS projects!

We welcome you to be a productive member of the community. Do some of us not like your deck cards? Yup, but again it is an opinion. Creators speaking with the community is a great way to win over fans and gain new ones. I actually LIKE the artwork of the Galaxy deck as do many of the members here.

I agree with Sinjin here. We want the forum to be an open exchange of thoughts and ideas by members. If someone is criticizing a member or a post, that should not be a reason to ban someone. If you do that, you will end up banning everyone that doesn't disagree with you. I have only banned to 2 people, Robert Butler and Zlaker/Lucky card company (They are the same person). Quite frankly, Robert should have been banned before I took over because of the harm he has done to the playing card community at large. Zlaker/Lucky was banned because he is involved with Robert Butler, (Or may actually be Robert Butler), and a lot of the things he did didn't make sense to me. So I don't think we shouldn't ban Blot 153 for disagreeing with anyone here. However I am not a big fan of double posting (Though in this case it might have occurred because responses might have been made while they were typing) and I am not going to leave posts that are just meant to incite, without providing any additional facts to support their position. That is why I adjusted one of their posts.

I believe Blot 153 brought this whole thing on themselves. As everyone here knows, I am very passionate about playing cards and speak my mind about issues, either pro or con. I almost never make critical comments about the design aspect of a deck because it is such a subjective and personal view point, that it almost never can be backed up with hard facts.

I am not sure why Blot 153 has been so defensive here, they fired the first salvo about the UC deck and I think Randy's response was approaite, given he designed the deck. They then started attacking Russell when all he was doing was pointing out who they were. If they were truly stand up guys, they why would have signed on as alien Ink instead of Blot153.

I have to agree with Russell here, I liked the design of the original Galaxy deck and stated so. What I didn't like, was their lies about why they chose their card manufacturer and all the other crap they said which turned out to not be true. I also didn't like the following comment they posted on Kickstarter:

Every penny of the money we received for the cards now at retail, went straight into more shipping, which is why you see another wave or people receiving their cards and posting comments recently.

We are sending out the rewards as fast as we can. Any money we garnish from retail, or Amazon, has gone straight into shipping more cards out to backers and we are using these outlets to help get you your cards as soon as we can.

So basically, even though people bought decks that included shipping, they couldn't send them out because they lack the funds to do so. Their deck was funded in August, it is now April and people are still waiting for their cards. They have started a new campaign for which I am sure, some of the funds will be used to send out the rest of the decks from the first campaign.

I also don't like how the stated a new Kickstarter identity. I believe this was done to separate themselves from the first Kickstarter account and all the problems that went with it. I believe they have no ethics or morals and should be avoided at all cost, like you would with the Plague.
