He posted a story on IG a couple of weeks ago that his gilder was backed way the F up. The green gilded reserve note, invocation gilded, nutcracker gilded, and maybe another were on a hold pattern. The Invocation kickstarter is the worst of the bunch. I think it was a September target for fulfillment. I hope he reconsiders his gilder because it's not just KWP decks. I think Montenzi had the same issue with the UC 2019 decks but not sure.

I finally received my Invocation kickstarter decks earlier this week. I didn't get my wooden cases though. Nick advised me that they are still waiting on them and decided to just send the decks now rather than keep us waiting on our cards any longer. The gilded tucks do look nice with the band around them.

Still haven't received my wooden box or gilded decks. Ready to end all ties and purchases from KWP as it's just shocking lack of communication overall. I have sent one last PM on KS to Jackson so will see if I get a response but I really just want a refund now as it's pointless not to have these yet. I have spent many thousands with them and am getting zero respect.

As for Invocation fulfillment - You should have received your gilded decks, they went out a month or so ago. However, the wooden boxes still have not been sent as of last week. Jackson has mentioned in his live broadcasts that they have been completed and I think are on the way to the fulfillment crew to get out shortly. The problem was that the person they used to make the boxes eventually backed out very late in the game. Jackson was able to get another vendor he had used to get them made, but he had a very late start. Because of that, the gilded decks went out without the boxes. I know Jackson is apologetic about the situation and that one of his subcontractors dropped the ball.

Below is a photo of my gilded, so they were shipped without the box.

So, did I get those low numbers because I am special? The high numbers on the bottom should disprove that theory! I consider this another Alpha and Omega set. I seem to get them more than occasionally for some reason.

In pulling these decks out, I had to show you my main KWP Subscription deck place. It doesn't have all the subscription related decks and some non-subscription related KWP decks (like Invocation). Either way, I am going to have to find a new storage place soon.

I know that you are a big apologist for KWP, but please don't mischaracterize something as having happened when it didn't. I should not ethat Jackson did refund me for the Kickstarter as I requested, so kudos for that.

The fact is that way prior to the pandemic, the supplier AND Jackson dropped the ball on this, their most expensive tier of a very delayed Kickstarter. I have spent well over $4000 on various KWP decks. I love the decks. The customer service not so much. I am still waiting for the decks that I have on delayed shipment to be sent to me some 3+ weeks since I paid the shipping. Looks like in the system they finally say shipped but I still haven't received a response to my numerous reminder emails.

Look, I love the KWP decks and have been a backer from the very beginning. I wouldn't have spent as much as I did with them if I didn't love the decks. That said, I see a number of issues around the production and sales of decks that have made me stop being a customer for now.

1. Poor communication on delays, especially on Kickstarter projects. Numerous examples of this of which Invocation is only one
2. International buyers pay a huge premium due to the customs and chipping charges. Other companies mitigate these charges but KWP to date hasn't been able to do so. I can buy 90%+ of KWP decks in the aftermarket for chearper than if I preorder or subscribe! Makes no sense. Really should consider a European warehouse if they want to address that market, other companies have very successfully done so, including Ellusionist.
3. Overproduction: Far too many variants (standard, limited, artist proofs, tuck swaps, Murphy's exclusives, the list goes one). Far too many decks as well. Reminds me of the early 90s and the baseball card collecting and production frenzy that went on. Just stop with the reprints and minor variants and focus on the utterly amazing designs you can do!

I'm sure I will get flack from the KWP apologists as I have before, but hey, I am free to state my opinion and so I have done so. I will probably buy KWP in the future, but likley in the aftermarket or on sale and definitely for much less than I have been paying to date.

Now that you've reminded me of the custom charges, I'm scared… Totally forgot about that since I've resubbed… And it's true that KWP custom charges are exceptionally "premium" (pricey) for Int'l customers.

I thought I would respond to this publically as well as privately.

We have definitely been doing our best to improve our communication process. So much so that I have hired a full time employee named Aimee to do nothing but customer services issue. She started two weeks ago and is already making great progress. I think every company should do their best to communicate, and that is something we are improving on.

I can buy 90%+ of KWP decks in the aftermarket for cheaper than if I preorder or subscribe! Makes no sense. This is in no way a slight to international buyers but the volumes of decks that I would have to print to financially justify bringing on an international consolidator have never worked out with my specific business model. I do not want to play in the same high volume game as Ellusionist and the like so i stay away from it. Because of my relatively low runs (compared to Ellusionist) once I wholesale my decks to someone my margins are basically nonexistent. Also from a data standpoint, 90% of all of my customers are from the US. It wasn't always like that but as the years have progress and the KW brand has had the fortunate opportunity to grow, more and more customers are coming from the US each day.

I have no control over customs charges of different countries, and I know those charges suck for sure!

Many people in the card community have requested that we devalue the product on the customs declaration, in order to help lower these charges. Devaluing a product on a customs declaration form is a federal offense/mail fraud.

Other card companies may do this, but KW not doing this has nothing to do with our feelings toward international customers, it has everything to do with us not trying to break the law.

I agree with you on this one. KW has produced tons of variants over the past 12 months. Most of that is due to us still trying to figure out the best recipe for our playing card subscription. We will be trimming down the number of subscriptions we do in the future.

I'm sorry we lost your business and you for sure, have given us tons of business over the years. We are daily growing and developing as a company. Thanks for your polite and thought out comments.

That's also the reason why I never buy directly from the States anymore regardless of any company, the custom charges are too difficult to predict. Most likely Int'l folks would end up being overcharged if they buy direct from the US if there is a local option to compare with. Keep in mind that Int'l folks are already paying more per deck on a basis, for instance, a deck of $10USD cards would be sold for £10GBP locally in my case. Sometimes it hurts a little to see US folks complain about Int'l shipping being too expensive… You've got all the goodies already, you know that? That mindset alone is making the playing card demographic more and more US centric. Just my 2 cents.

Not always, but certainly in most cases. By no means I have I been positive about everything that has come out of KWP. I have an insane KWP collection to be sure, but some decks I don't like. Jackson caters to other collectors decks that just don't work for me.

I don't have problems with people having issues with KWP or other creators. However, if I have had a different experience, I think I should be allowed the same opportunity to comment.

Realised I couldn’t really find images/reviews of the invocation Nov 2019 shorts standard version, compared to the KS versions (especially the platinum with front and back silver cold foil).

Finally managed to snag a deck of the Nov 2019 shorts. The full colour jokers and courts are a nice contrast to the monotonous KS platinum version!

Just to manage expectations, the Legacy Invocations were $200 on Kickstarter. However, this included a dual gilded set with the box.
