Bicycle Rock & Roll

Unread post by jerichoholic »

New deck from Will Roya designed by Juniardi. Apparently goes on sale next Friday yet he's already selling it on ebay, albeit for more, so I don't know how I feel about that sales tactic but i'll wait. 1000 decks printed. Pretty cool I suppose. Seems Juniardi is a decent designer when not constrained by CPC standard courts.

Drawings look good but I wouldn't get it.

Thought the same. Nice custom deck, but no wallet opener.
You want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash that’s being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world.

If they had done something that resembled rock stars a little closer (guitar shape, signature clothes, parody names) , I might have gotten it. As it is with the anonymous figures, not for me.

Not interesting to me.

Got these today (scans soon, promise) I hope the decks I received were prototype decks. Its not a bad deck, There are some things such as the masking around the heads on the courts, and the same around the pips as they overlap the background that look very rushed. The border I feel could also be a little smaller. I would say a good start and concept, but definitely not a finished deck.

This deck is proof that I'm not checking these boards as often as I need to. I really wanted this deck but it's sold out :(

I doubt that they are already sold out that fast and would reach out to Will Roya directly and ask him. ;)

I want to say that they are supposed to go on sale this Friday - and the ones bought from PCD website were either a special release or an accident (I got one also - two were sold).

This kind of feels like what people who don't listen to rock music think rock music looks like.

That hits exactly the feeling I got which turned me off from the deck! It's more like 80's hair bands/Hard Rock/heavy metal groups represented on the courts.

Now that I think of it, they could have gone with the different rock groups with the suits. Either by decade 60's , 70-80s, 90s, 00- current or sub-genres. Hard rock, soft rock, glam/hair bands, etc.

Whatever it is, this deck could have used a stronger and tigther theme across the suits or courts to reflect the rock and roll genre.
