Re: David Blaine New Rose Gold Gatorbacks
Yeah, nice of them to state right at the bottom of all the marketing hype that the regular version will be released in Jan 2020! I was excited to get a chance for a signed DB deck, but balked when I saw the price.
Really? USD100? I would rather save the $ for Lotrek's Crypt deck, KWP's Christmas sale, if any, or PCD's year end clearance sale.

Price is crazy but it is 2-decks. One signed and one not.

Plus the DB version of my Carat X2 Display Case, making it less crazy.Blockheads88 wrote:Price is crazy but it is 2-decks. One signed and one not.

Re: David Blaine New Rose Gold Gatorbacks
At $100, I would expect a laser engraved Carat case with DB's logo on it or the AoS design!
But then, whoever's managing DB's store knows what s/he's doing and is keenly aware of just how much DB signed decks fetch on Ebay, in order to sell these at such a price.

And gone. I'm glad that I will pay less for the non-smudged version . Was the Carat Case customized, btw?

Well, it isn't a Carat Case, so I am not sure, but it doesn't look any different than a standard two deck case.Harvonsgard wrote:Was the Carat Case customized, btw?

Re: David Blaine New Rose Gold Gatorbacks (wap)
Same thing for me. Not a fan of signed decks. Just doest make sense to me or add any value to justify the higher price tag. But yes I am loving me that rose gold on the black. Im in when the regular decks are released.
I haven't slept for ten days, because that would be too long.

Re: David Blaine New Rose Gold Gatorbacks
This set is already going for $300+ on Ebay! I thought these were going to be the only ones ever, good thing they'll be out next year.
I'm surprised the gold backs are about $30, guess they're not rare or in high demand.

Re: David Blaine New Rose Gold Gatorbacks
Because they are still available for $20 retail at David Blaine's store. And yes, like most DB decks not rare at all.Bikefanatic wrote:I'm surprised the gold backs are about $30, guess they're not rare or in high demand.
And that sharpie line made by David would justify the mark-up for you? Just curious.IAmTheChin wrote:Sad I missed out on this one. I didn't realize they were signed.

Re: David Blaine New Rose Gold Gatorbacks
I do like artist signed decks (but admittedly most of my decks are signed in person so it's a bit more like a nice memory than a value thing). I'm not necessarily a DB fan (didn't need to collect ABC or Microsoft) but am a fan of Stutzman and would be hoping to get that deck signed by him one day. So having the DB signature with Stutzman's signature would be a nice full circle.Harvonsgard wrote:And that sharpie line made by David would justify the mark-up for you? Re: David Blaine New Rose Gold Gatorbacks
The Blaine Stutzman collaboration is one of the best so far in custom playing cards. Their Tally Ho Split Spades are getting pretty hard to find (and expensive) as are the original 1st Edition Split Spades decks, which I still consider among the greatest custom decks ever made. Blaine usually had provided a lot of autographed decks and merchandise, and there wasn't too much of a mark up in the past for them, but I was taken aback by the $100.00 price tag on these. At least he provided two decks, one signed and one to open, so he's considering both the collector and user of decks. I'm not into rose gold, I think regular gold looks better anyway, so these were an easy pass for me, but I'll probably pick up some of the rose gold Gatorbacks in their general release without the signature since the Gatorbacks are probably Blaine's second best designed deck after the Split Spades.

Re: David Blaine New Rose Gold Gatorbacks
I think most of his decks sold for $20. The green and red gatorbacks are the "rare" ones that's selling up to 3x more.

Re: David Blaine New Rose Gold Gatorbacks
I would say it depends on the amount of decks printed. The black gatorback and silver SS took awhile to sell out, but now easily fetches at least 2-3x the value. I got the Silver SS at around $20 , now it's easily $50 on ebay.
