Wow! This is awesome!

I didn't mind JarJar either hehe. He was pretty goofy and a tad annoying but I didn't hate him.

I kinda liked Jar Jar. I always felt they had him set up to be a shocker Sith. His "luck" reminded me of Obi-wan's statement "In my experience there is no such thing as 'luck'." That theory was not a shocker to me.

Star Wars truly died for me with Episode VIII. What I have read about Episode IX just is sad. Disney has killed, sorry they have brutally murdered, the franchise. Even if they do something else decent, they have killed too much of what I liked for me to care anymore.

They will not get me to spend a stinking dime on it if any money goes to Disney no matter how awesome it might be.

Rian Johnson ruined Star Wars, not Disney. YET. I have tickets for tomorrow's showing and the jury's out but my expectations are very low. Either way I'm going to buy these, hands down. But I'm curious how the licensing will work. Is it going to be like E's Jurassic Park deck and have no character likeness? And if so can they at least not have effing fossils as the courts?

A Star Wars deck that won't be novelty-grade in quality? Yes please :D I'm hoping there's more than just the deck pictured, maybe a Rebellion-themed deck as well since this one looks like it's Empire only? I demand a Baby Yoda deck

Last Jedi is the second-best Star Wars movie after Empire come at me

Honestly I would blame Disney for not even having a rough plan for this trilogy and just letting the directors do whatever they want. Rian Johnson obviously did a terrible job with Episode 8, but I think the larger blame is on Disney. I think Rian Johnson is actually a pretty good director, and if y'all haven't seen Knives Out yet, I would highly recommend it.
I've spent way more than I care to admit on playing cards, but I'll still buy just about anything that Lorenzo, Jackson, or Gio make.

On another note, you will have to wonder just how much it'll cost to cover their license fee. 10k min at $15 to $20?

I hope the deck is good. But I don't understand this sentiment. We still love LOTR despite the Hobbit trilogy, we still loved the original SW trilogy despite countless bad books and comics (with plenty of great ones too) and the dreaded holiday special. Something cannot be made retroactively 'less' because of what came later. I could never not be excited by good Star Wars. Really looking forward to playing Jedi: Fallen Order too.

That being said I was at the midnight opening for IX and it was definitely much better than VIII, and in fact ignores or outright dismisses most of it lol. Other than a couple big things you could theoretically skip it. But it also suffers from that as well, it needed a proper JJ-directed middle film to really build everything up and be cohesive as the ending to a trilogy, it's trying to be a trilogy in two films, which obviously wasn't his choice but what he had to do by necessity. Anyway, to be honest it is kind of telling that Rogue One is the best film out of all the Disney movies so far and isn't even a numbered entry.

Never cared for Star Wars, but great popcorn entertainment. Glad there are ways to watch movies without spending a dime. For pros that don't wanna miss the cinema experience, make sure to be kind to your friend that works at the movie theatre :D .

If someone inflates something and fills it with a meaning that it never had, it can be devalued after they realise that their ascribed value was never there. I guess this is where the sentiments of Star Wars fans come from and why they feel it is less. For me it is strange as well though. If you felt great about the OG movies than they are still great no matter how hard Disney milks that franchise.

Friendly reminder that The Mandalorian is set 5 years after Return of the Jedi and roughly 25 years before the current film trilogy. So Baby Yoda is approximately 45 years old at the time of Yoda's death.

Ergo, it is entirely plausible that Baby Yoda is born at/about the time of The Phantom Menace. IIRC Yaddle (if the rumours are to be believed) died towards the end of Attack of the Clones.

Lucasfilm, not really Disney itself, shares the blame in ruining Star Wars. Rian Johnson is poopitrator #1 for writing and directing TLJ all by himself. They gave an idiot with 0 credibility full control of the train to derail it off a cliff. But Kathleen Kennedy and the "creative committee" at Lucasfilm green-lit his creations and ideas.

I'm hearing, from close credible sources, that despite JJ's best efforts The Rise of Skywalker is frustrating. "A lot of Mary Sue and 'pull it out of your ass' moments." Will the "disrespect to Rian Johnson" and "clear direction to right the ship so that fans forget about TLJ" be enough for me to overlook that? I'll see in a couple days...

The critics seem to hate it because it goes against everything TLJ stood for - and the nostalgia. So, I was getting hyped. But like-minded fans have been giving it mediocre words. "Only 20% of the moments that gave me a rise were a GOOD reaction - the others made me say 'oh come on'."

I don’t envy JJ Abrams task after Rian Johnson incinerated the franchise and the storyline. I do put this at Kennedy’s feet as she allowed it to happen. If Ryan tried to assassinate Leah’s character like he did Luke’s, he would have been run out of town in a heartbeat. But, it was fine to do that to the main hero of the story while giving no real character development to Ray. Honestly, this whole story was dead after Ryan finished his contribution to the Star Wars saga.

I saw episode IX in theaters yesterday. It was actually pretty great!

The Last Jedi was kind of a bad movie but still it was better than any of the prequel bullshit. Saying that Disney ruined Star Wars is just freaking ridicilous, as George Lucas already did it with the prequels.

But yeah, episode IX isn't a perfect movie but I did enjoy it, in my opinion it's the best Star Wars movie since the Return of the Jedi.

And no, I don't think Disney single-handedly ruined Star Wars - they had lots of help, including from Lucas himself. I just remember the days when it was simply a good movie, and not burdened by everything that has been needlessly stacked on top of it ever since, most of it awful.

Unfortunately good movies in the past tense don't make billions of dollars in revenue in the present tense, so expect the dead horse to be beaten until it doesn't have a drop of blood left to give.
