How does a signature deck actually work for a Lotrek campaign? Does it become a new tier or is it an add-on? Off to a good start!

During the Ambassadors campaign the Signature was an external add-on through ucdecksales, during the Arabesque campaign the Silver was an external add-on through his Oath website, both times it was during the last 24 hours of the campaign only and limited to as many as were ordered. So I can only imagine it will likely be the same with this through the Oath website, although Kellar may like a personal stash of his own. The Ambassadors Signature was also priced quite well at $55. The stretch goal is a looooooong way away though, particularly at this time of year, I won't be holding my breath! Backer #8 here btw, would have been quicker but I wanted to check if there was a Signature from the start lol.hsbc wrote:Looking forward to the signature deck hopefully - but scared of the price

Re: "CHARMERS" playing cards by Lotrek and Kellar O' Neil
On the pledge tiers, it says the faces are CMYK plus metallic inks. However, in the campaign is this paragraph. So which is it? Cold foil on the courts or not? Price suggests not. The paragraph is very misleading to me.
Also says cold foil on the "figure cards". I assume this means number cards? I suppose it is technically true being cold foil on the backs and not faces. Why mention cold foil in those 2 areas if it is not on the card faces? Just mention it in the backs section.

I did exactly the same but managed to grab an EB brick just in time. They went fast.Bradius wrote:I first backed for four and then decided to go for an EB brick. In the time it took me to change my pledge, they vaporized. I guess four decks it is.

Cold foil will be on both faces and back.
Not sure why I did it so complicated and eventually wrong.

Re: "CHARMERS" playing cards by Lotrek and Kellar O' Neil
Another EB (aka NB - night bird - for some people ) where "early" spells "first 5 minutes"... Oh well, it's the old spirit of black Friday KS story
Great decks (no surprise there) but it's a pity not to give a more inclusive feel to the campaign... I'm convinced the Parlour campaign is the way to go, but I know it's an old debate.
I think it's better to give me time to ponder what I might miss and jump in than show me what I just missed... I'll tend to stay out.
Wish the best to this campaign anyway

I totally get it that creators want to give back to the people that are avid supporters and their day ones, but at the end of the day everyone who pledges made the project possible. Doesn't matter if backer #1 or #9,006,897, imo

I thought we had finally moved away from quantity-limited EB's to the more evolved and civilized time-limited EB's, but oh well. Got a single EB, so I guess I'll add on a second one when the add-on list is posted.

Yeah this. given that there are backeres worldwide even a twelve hour window is a bit more fair than quantity limited.MagikFingerz wrote:I thought we had finally moved away from quantity-limited EB's to the more evolved and civilized time-limited EB's, but oh well. Lotrek has done both quantity and time limits. I prefer time limits, but not my call. If I really want a brick, I will not let the price difference stop me, but that is me.
On the issue of cold foil. Cold foil is one of the stretch goals, so I think the descriptions got a bit confused. Anyway, expect this to be a Cartamundi cold foil job. Given what I have seen with The Entertainer, these should be a no brained at these prices.

Re: "CHARMERS" playing cards by Lotrek and Kellar O' Neil
I understand wanting timed EB as well. I ended up with a single deck EB, which is fine as I really only want a purple one anyway. In the grand scheme of things, EBs are generally $2 to $4 off (quite a bit more in bricks) so not so much of a savings that I wouldn't back a project I liked because I missed an EB.

Got the single deck EB too... And of course I was referring to the EB brick difference, which is quite satisfying or disappointing, depending what time you join the party

I would have definitely gone full brick if it was a timed EB. Missed all of the EBs so will only do the two decks, one of each color at the regular price.
I also wanted to post right below Kurama bc we both have cool tree logos.

Re: "CHARMERS" playing cards by Lotrek and Kellar O' Neil
The prices are squeezed as much as possible. The deck will have cold foil on both sides, which raises the cost a lot. The whole campaign is actually an early bird as the retail price will be much higher. We preferred to keep the prices low and have some early bird tiers than having an early bird time limit of 12 hours and actually having to sell the decks at a higher price -which we would have to do in that case...

Don’t you think that wood be a bit too early? They should be a minimum of tree members to do that.rousselle wrote:You guys should try to branch out.Pablo393 wrote:I also wanted to post right below Kurama bc we both have cool tree logos.

After leafing back through the project and reading Lotrek's latest post about having to raise the standard prices if he went with a 12 hour EB for this project, I agree he should stick with his pricing.

Stems to be a reasonable approa(n)ch. Anyways, I root for this campaign to get funded. Re: "CHARMERS" playing cards by Lotrek and Kellar O' Neil
ADD-ON list just posted!
When you keep the prices down, -unless the campaign is insanely successful- every $ counts. So what may be a 2 dollar discount for a backer, multiplied can become thousands less for the creator. And as you never know if and when a project will be very successful, it is wiser I think to have a number limit for the early birds.Harvonsgard wrote:Stems to be a reasonable approa(n)ch. Re: "CHARMERS" playing cards by Lotrek and Kellar O' Neil
You mean the campaign which I didn't end up backing because by the time I woke up and saw the email all the limited tiers were gone and for me that was the only way of having the complete set? I know the absolutely incredible demand for that campaign couldn't have been foreseen, and it was just bad luck on my part, but it didn't feel 'inclusive' to me when I missed out and numbered limited tiers are certainly no better than numbered EB tiers. It's just the way things go, I've always considered Early Bird rewards to be exactly that: for the early birds and more of a bit of fun for the first backers than anything which should be taken seriously or for granted. We all already know that Kickstarter prices are much lower than retail and complaining about EBs seems like bad form to me.Kurama wrote:it's a pity not to give a more inclusive feel to the campaign...
