Re: Black Reserve Note - Green Edition by KW
Did the release at 7 just sell out immediately? I was refreshing nonstop and they never showed up.
I've spent way more than I care to admit on playing cards, but I'll still buy just about anything that Lorenzo, Jackson, or Gio make.

I think he did not release. It cannot get sold out in a second since even you sanve the credit card info there are multiple steps to claim the decksEvilDuncan wrote:Did the release at 7 just sell out immediately? I was refreshing nonstop and they never showed up.

Re: Black Reserve Note - Green Edition by KW
I've mentioned it here about JR reprints, but since hardly anyone seems to read other threads , I'll mention it here as well.
As one who only started collecting in late 2016, I consider JR's reprints as one that values both the fans and collectors, old and new. For those who missed his earlier decks, we can get a version of his popular decks at fairly reasonable prices (under $50) , but the V1 will still hold their value, but probably not at triple figures.
BRN is one of the most expensive standard JR decks on Ebay and now we can get a V2 at the same price as it was released on KS, with more bling. That's why for me, $40 for BRN v2 standard is a fair price. Would be interesting to know if there's any card stock and finish of both V1 and V2 though.
From the popular JR decks, IIRC, only the Gold certs, Holmes Baker St and Haunted 8s (of his 4 2018 subs decks) have not been reprinted. Other decks are still available in online shops and ebay at relatively decent prices.
Ironsides USPCC version will be released on BF. JR announced on IG live a month back, that in 2020, he will be reprinting Fed 52 v1, Maduros and Crayons decks as the 3 KWP flagship decks and they will always be in stock.

I don't think the 7PM release happened. Either they goofed and forgot, programmed it wrong, or had a stock snafu, but either way no word from KWP on what the plan is for that third release window.

Re: Black Reserve Note - Green Edition by KW
It isn't. It is artificially created by greedy bastards putting up ridiculous prices hoping they can rope in a sucker for it. Then they do, and then others see that and think that must be what they're worth now, so everyone starts putting up ridiculous prices, and then the cycle starts again until a hard limit is found where nobody will touch whatever crazy price it's up to. It only takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch. We can't do anything about it of course, but a market is what it is when it is fair, when it can be justified, where you can think 'that makes sense, I can accept that's where it's at and why, it's just how it is'. Otherwise a market is poisoned, and for a market with such a small scale as playing cards collecting it can't self-correct so it remains that way. KWP decks are some of the most egregious offenders for this kind of 'poisoned aftermarket' for a lack of a better phrase. We may have to live with it (well people who are into KWP do) but giving in and accepting it is a different story.irtjames14 wrote:But as Harvonsgard mentioned, the market is what it is..

Re: Black Reserve Note - Green Edition by KW
We don't have to like it but to say it isn't working as all markets do is just incorrect. If people weren't paying for it, they wouldn't sell for the high prices. As it stands, KWP is opening two new subscription plans on top of everything else and they're pre-filled as fast as they're announced. What you described is literally how a free market works. The market dictates the the price the consumer is willing to pay based on demand.

Re: Black Reserve Note - Green Edition by KW (wap)
In general, my recommendation as a collector of anything to buy what you want, but don’t expect to get your money back, much less make money on your hobby unless you establish yourself as a successful reseller. If you can resell Jackson’s or Fontains or any decks at massive markups, good for you. Honestly, it seems easier to resell something like Faunae when you get it on Kickstarter for like $11 and resell it for $15 to make some money back than on a really high priced deck like one of these gilded decks, but I am not a reseller, so I am no expert. I am not a fan of folks that just buy these limited decks to resell them for instant large mark-up. However, if they can do it, good for them. If they mess up the marketplace, then the marketplace was likely messed up anyway! My experience though is many resell for modest mark-up. Dentyne being a good example, but there are others like him. Sometimes I’ll buy from them, but generally I’ll live with a hole in a set and move on.
Jackson has a successful business model, so good for him. He continues to put out some really creative decks I like. If I can't have everything, well that is life. I don't need everything. I'll be selective and get what I really want and pass or miss on other stuff. I really like Tigers and went all out for it. I am not as excited about some other creations, so others buy them. If it works for Jackson, he should keep doing it and expand his customers beyond just me.
My honest thinking is Jackson is one of the best things that has happened to playing card collecting. I'll take his creative works any day over what most of us would call "hype" decks that have such limited creativity in them.
Keep it up Jackson!

With the market is what it is, I simple mean that the market has its mechanics and follows certain rules (perfectly explained by CommentNameHere). That is undeniable, whether one likes it or not. Of course value and prices are artificial. I never said they weren't and the statement that the market is what it is doesn't imply that either.Adonael wrote:It isn't.irtjames14 wrote:But as Harvonsgard mentioned, the market is what it is..
I know that your gripe is how exactly that it is like that but nobody forces you to participate. Nobody is entitled to get something for the price one wants it. I know most socialists and therealike will disagree here and use compelling arguments like Gulags and death marches to convince people but I doubt that we should vote for that road again... and again... and again.
A creator creates something and you either take it or leave it. Don't like it? Don't buy it! If others do - so be it. Do I buy KWP? In the early days yah, nowadays less and less. His price policy and rigid law abiding will make me definetly stop from supporting him in the future. There are other fish to fish for me. And that is fine for me and most definetly for Jackson (or others as well). We can perfectly and peacefully co-exist with me being not okay with stuff he does.
Regarding resellers; I had two deals lately about KWP decks one with zepherion on reddit and one with Dentyne here at UC - both gave me the opportunity to get the decks cheaper(!) as I would have gotten them through the official KWP site (due to less shipping and no custom fees). Others do inflate the prices. But as long as customers pay these prices, that is the price one has to pay opr wait till she/he finds a better one. Like it or not. Whining is not going to change that. Only voting with your wallet and voicing your opinion in a respectful manner will change that. Another way (which is too exhausting for most) is to lead by example and create things yourself that, then one distributes in the way they deem to be fair and reasonable.
For all the guys that are constantly whining about prices - to avoid misunderstandings voicing your opinion by saying this price is too high is perfectly fine and in the case of Exquiste Fortuna and Black Reserve Note I do agree (and therefore won't buy them!) - a simple guide to happiness:
- Grow up and learn to let go
- Asking price is too inflated/high/not to ones personal liking - don't buy.
pretty simple and easy to follow
Would be seriously awesome if people could stop labelling people as greedy bastards and b-holes just because they don't agree with their price tags.

Would be seriously awesome if people would get over themselves and agree to disagree, instead of baiting and trolling other people for having a different opinion, and then publicly criticizing the mods for allowing free speech. Jesus Christ. "I disagree with their criticism so I decree it 'whining'." Talk about hypocrisy.Harvonsgard wrote:With the market is what it is, I simple mean that the market has its mechanics and follows certain rules (perfectly explained by CommentNameHere). Your baiting is transparent. I ignored it in the other thread. Again - baiting by trying to gaslight and calling me "babe" isn't how mature people disagree.Harvonsgard wrote:Not what happend, but I'm not in the position to help you with your delusion. I would suggest that you stop being a hypocritical troll. Ignore me if you're so easily triggered by differing perceptions.

Triggered? No worries at all. I'm fine no matter what you perceive. I'm the hypocritical baiting troll while you call Gio and other creators in here names... Delusion over 9000. Funny at best. Well played.

Your hypocrisy and baiting has been laid out in full without contention (because of its transparency). Your gaslight trolling is equally transparent and ineffective.
Gio doesn't need a white knight to defend him. He can handle himself. He got over it. Why can't you? You gotta make a JR topic about everything that isn't this deck - for no good reason.

@TP, don't see you name-calling or ass-whooping KW for their repeating conduct of marketing scheme while you did it to Gio for doing it once. Only mild pushbacks for JR, always. That's fact and that was my point across different threads. You're ill-advised language might be comedy sometimes, but not when you're degrading creator's reputation.

Your "point" doesn't make sense. Opportunity ≠ outcome. I already told you this.Decknowledgy wrote:@TP, don't see you name-calling or ass-whooping KW for their repeating conduct of marketing scheme while you did it to Gio for doing it once. How deep do you want me to criticize a color swapped deck that was equally priced on Kickstarter 5 years ago? Are you out of your mind? Get over it.
"Ill-advised language"!? When, where, and how...? That's absolutely laughable. You do not dictate how and when I choose my words. I couldn't care less about your misappropriation regarding my speech. Gio did this to himself. He can obviously price the deck for less. He's choosing not to and using "I only have 90" as an excuse.Decknowledgy wrote:You're ill-advised language might be comedy sometimes, but not when you're degrading creator's reputation.
This thread isn't even about Gio's deck, yet that's all you guys wanna talk about. I suggest that everyone gets over it, moves on, and discusses the topics at hand.

Re: Black Reserve Note - Green Edition by KW
Whats going on here is the very reason I got off of FB and other social media. I got so sick and tired of being a spectator to infighting that it turned me off. And here it is again. I hope it stops. In the end, you are all entitled to your opinion, and have a right to defend yourself and that's just fine. But it seems more personal and that doesn't help things. We are a passionate group of playing card collectors with strong opinions about what we like/dislike and what is right or wrong about the industry we support. But can we move past this and talk about what brings us here in the first place? It is the best time of year for collectors and cardists alike with so many offerings. Some we will like, some we will not. This is a hobby and an enjoyable past time that should unite us (UNITED CARDISTS) not divide us in a way that makes this forum a place people may not want to visit anymore. Its the holidays people. Best wishes to all of my fellow cardists and I hope everyone gets that extra special deck to add to their collection this holiday season. Peace.
I haven't slept for ten days, because that would be too long.

Good luck with that, as Jackson himself (or someone claiming to be him) personally said for me to send back my dented deck. I did with contact info. Still waiting for my replacement or any contact, 13 months later.

Yesterday, Kings Wild did an Instagram live and someone brought up Nick needing to respond to an email. He said he was behind as he got over 200 emails yesterday. At the time, they were busy assembling the ... the... dang, I forget. Some ton of decks to get out. Nick said he will try to get caught up this morning with emails. Just understand he is juggling getting stuff out with responding to emails.
canogie. I would suggest following up with your issue also with Nick. Nick is really the main person to respond with most customer issues now. Jackson is trying to step back from that role to focus on the deck designing, which has to be a ton of work with all he has planed for next year.

Re: Black Reserve Note - Green Edition by KW
Email volume I'm guessing is the delayed shipment program as I got and paid my invoice yesterday.

I totally back what Bradius has said. I've nothing but praises for Nick's work.Bradius wrote:Yesterday, Kings Wild did an Instagram live and someone brought up Nick needing to respond to an email.
I've been having certain issues with the subscription during the year, and Nick has always addressed my concerns and solved any problem. And more often than not, quite fast. As in "a couple of days fast".
Thanks, Nick.

Agreed. Nick has been incredibly helpful whenever I've had a question or an issue. He always responds and if it takes a few days or a few hours it doesn't matter to me because he fixes whatever needs to be fixed and has been really nice and helpful. I think that Jackson should give him a raise!Gonzalo wrote:I totally back what Bradius has said. Completely different experience for me. Extremely hard to get in contact and to get a response from both Nick and the team. I've had at least 10 inquiries in which a few were the same issue, got responded once per three to four emails. So after three months of short subscription with Intl delayed shipping, I cancelled my subscription and decided no more direct business with KWP with this kind of service. It just proves my theory that KWP is very American centric. Couldn't care less about this brand if communication is never upgraded. I also want to add that the constant change of the website including the frequent taking down and putting up different links and the most recent updates using Instagram live is just a pain in the ass to keep up, not just because of the short notice but also because of the timezone difference.
Are there any other (better) ways to notify your followers about new releases? Definitely.
Does KWP consider benefiting and engaging their wider audience? Explicitly NO.
Happy only are those who have too much free time just following the live updates.

Although I'm not looking to disprove any theories, and I totally understand your frustration, if you notice the flag under my name, you'll see that I'm not American nor I live anywhere near the U.S.Decknowledgy wrote:It just proves my theory that KWP is very American centric.
