Are the various decks signed on the cello or on the tucks?

Everything is signed on the cello except for the Yellow Ravn deck. The prototype deck has no cello but is not signed

Yeah, he charged what the higher-tiered Patreon subscribers would have paid the entire year ($240) minus whatever you've already paid in the lower tier ($2/month). Lorenzo stated he miscalculated the total packages needed and had some spares.

I don't keep or collect any signed decks so I'll be listing them all. I don't do Patreon just for the goodies so if I can break even on the signed stuff, I'll be 100% happy.

When Lorenzo mentioned he was sending a prototype deck, I was sure it was going to be a Keymaster Tarot prototype. Ah well. I am just glad to support Lorenzo. Rewards are a nice bonus. A prototype of The Parlour is very cool as well. Thanks for sharing the photos.

I missed the party for 2019 so grabbed one of the lower tiers. Definitely going to try to get a top tier for 2020.
As Bradius said, for me it's more knowing I am going a small way towards supporting my favourite designer. The rewards are just an awesome bonus!!

In Patreon, Lorenzo said he would re-arrange the tiers in January. :ugdance:

Just curious if anyone actually did get a low number for their signed Black Parlour deck. Not that it matters, just a curiosity thing.

I got number 2,362.

I got 2,171 of the Black Parlour decks and #657 of 680 for the Room 17 deck.

I did open the gilded Cartomancer deck that came with the rewards. That deck is sick with the gilding. It handles so well, it is insane. I may have to get some more. I really like the Black The Parlor deck. Even without gilding, it looks great.

While that is very nice of Lorenzo to offer a refund if they don't like the reward package, I feel that would be pretty bad form to ask for one.

It's great from a customer service standpoint, and a very calculated risk. Most people who will be willing to part with $20/$33 monthly and not see anything for a year will probably be in awe of whatever the final package is. Since I wouldn't think people would be blindly throwing money at him without doing their research, everyone will most likely be pleased. That, and the fact that it would be poor form to ask for a refund, almost ensures that no one will.

aardvarkgod, thanks for the post. I wasn't aware that Lorenzo had posted his new 2020 Patreon tiers, so this was helpful. Another year should be fun. I am really excited for the Keymaster Tarot to come out. I have to keep my expectations in check though. While the Kickstarter campaign is about to begin, we still have to wait until Kickstarter is over, then the cards need to be made and shipped. It will be quite awhile before those finished beauties make their way to us.

I agree with you STLBluesNut, especially as Patreon is really about supporting artists. However, as they have added reward features, it does now create an expectation from the artist in return for the support, and it is an important aspect as a number of backers wouldn't support, or near to the amount they are, without those rewards. I think it is a good thing for Lorenzo since he can't say up front what all will be included in the rewards. So, someone might get really disappointed. That way, the backer is reasonably happy to get their money back, and Lorenzo can always sell the extra set to someone else.

I am backing as a Kings, not for the frame, but just to continue to support Lorenzo as much as I can. I think this model is great for artists like Lorenzo that only put out a few projects every year, so funding comes in huge spurts.

Ace of Spades for me. I honestly would of backed without the rewards as I did on the lower tier last year. a) I like knowing I am supporting my favourite designer and b) I really like the sneak peaks into Lorenzo's design process.

I have cut down on a few non-essential outgoings lately, plus I've been very picky on my Kickstarter pledges, so I'm in for the Ace of Spades tier. I regret not being able to support Lorenzo as much as I could in the past.

And not forgetting Giovanni, too - that'll be the last subscription I ever cancel! :D

The tier to just get his Patreon posts is just $2/month. He did a lot of them last year, so I thought it was definitely worth the contribution.

Is the only difference between the Ace and King tiers the frame? Because that ends up being a $150 frame

I never thought about it before. But your right, that doesn't make sense. Although it is handmade by Lorenzo in Walnut from scratch... Perhaps he is going to include something in the frame? The thick plottens...
