Was working just now... EPCC only just announced this so I am guessing it might be busy...

Maybe. It's slowly working now. It was throwing 500 Internal Server Errors from the link on the KS backer email.

Re: Jerry’s Nugget Owners Reserve
$95 for a deck, right. So now Expert having bought JN's licensing is capitalizing on making a fortune on all the editions that they can come up with the brand name. Just as how everyone was fearing they'd do.

Well they say all profits are going to Conjuring arts. Although to be honest I don't know that much about them.

These really arn't my kind of thing anyway. Although I am guilty of grabbing a couple KWP Nuggets from the campaign out of idle curiosity.

Re: Jerry’s Nugget Owners Reserve
Such a cash grab. Like they didn't get enough of our money on the project. And not even a discount for backers? This should be like no more than $50 imo.

As much as the JN has its name, $95 for the reserve is a definite pass for me.

What? Each to their own, but I feel like they shouldn't be more than $10 (and I'm being very generous here).jerichoholic wrote:This should be like no more than $50 imo.
If they were gifted to me, I wouldn't even touch'em with rubber gloves. I guess Bill is well connected and experienced enough to know what he is doing but this just leaves another bad taste for me and it isn't even that the profits go to Conjuring Arts. As someone who respects and enjoys watching magic I could live with that, but the product lacks everything. This isn't even a cash grab, this is straight up turd selling, imo.

Re: Jerry’s Nugget Owners Reserve
Once CARC/EPCC got the license from Jerry's Nugget Casino, I suspected they were going to milk the JN cow for all it is worth. That, in and of itself, is not so objectionable since they were the ones to pony up the cash for the license so they have to right to profit from it as much as they can. But this is crossing over into shamelessness. Their JN decks are, at the end of the day, just cheap copies of the original deck. Those who are knowledgeable about stock and finish, or those who own the original decks, will know that these licensed imitations handle and feel NOTHING like the real decks despite EPCC's desperate claims to the contrary. Remember, a lot of magic is about misdirection and deception. Now these so called Owners Reserve is an artificially rare blatant cash grab at $95.00 + shipping.
This ridiculous Owner's Reserve and the numerous other re-colors that are sure to come, coupled with the petty, and probably frivolous legal action against the Chicken Nugget deck, puts CARC and EPCC in an extremely unflattering light and gives me insight as to what they are truly all about. Amit Kalantri once said, "For a professional magician, a stack of playing cards is as good as a stack of money." CARC and EPCC are taking that concept to a distasteful extreme.

Re: Jerry’s Nugget Owners Reserve
I have spent way over 100 € to booze during this one night, I watched my barely over 18 year old cousin drink white wine from a used shot glass where his older cousin had dumped a bunch of chilli mayo and I can say that this deck is the stupidest shit I have seen all night.

Re: Jerry’s Nugget Owners Reserve
As someone who bought into the hype and spent way too much backing the reprint campaign, I'm still pretty excited about getting the JN design on updated USPCC stock and finish along with the teal back, KWP version, and my shiny personalized foil deck. However, this is really going to make me think twice about anything EPCC related in the future, including Jackson Robinson decks. I wasn't a big fan of their cardstock and quality anyways, so not only is this PRC-printed Owner's Reserve an easy pass, like Harvonsgard said, it leaves a bad taste because it's just so greedy, especially in light of the whole Chicken Nuggets lawsuit.

Re: Jerry’s Nugget Owners Reserve
I think Jackson Robinson did his interpretation of the Jerry's Nugget's tuck as a commission piece. I am not sure how bought in he is in the whole reprint project.
Personally, am am glad I stayed away from the reprint, and I get happier about my decision by the day. Although, this Owner's Reserve tuck is probably the best I Jerry's Nuggets tuck I have seen so far, but that bar is set really low.

Re: Jerry’s Nugget Owners Reserve
True, I get that Jackson Robinson isn't exactly tied to this, but most of his decks are still EPCC printed. I like to handle a lot of the cards in my collection, and I just find myself not very enthusiastic about picking up an EPCC deck vs. standard Bicycle or Bee stock in the first place. I get that KWP falls into the custom art deck category; they're not meant to be cardistry or magic decks so handling is less of a priority, and given USPCC's track record with misalignment and such, I'm not saying Jackson should solely print with USPCC either. EPCC being this blatantly greedy just adds to the hesitation I feel already when I see EPCC instead of Cartamundi or USPCC. Tbh, I've been impressed with some of the latest HCPC printed decks like Hanami and the VIN Prototype, just not a fan of that ripe/rotting guava smell that seems to come with all the Taiwan-printed decks.

Edit: Nevermind, I've read RWPPFFShuffle's post.
It is funny how tastes (here in a literal sense ) differ. For me Cartamundi's B9 cards has/had always a negative/worst smell. That is why I only have two B9 decks in my collection - Fillide and The House of thr Rising Spades. But I agree that EPCC isn't eau the cologne either. The diamond finish cards are okay, though. Damn... I should stop sniffing on my cards too much...

Definitely the biggest draw for me with the reprints was that they were going to be printed by USPCC. If it was anything else, I probably would have just gotten one or 2, not a whole brick and all the goodies.
