[hsbc] Cards, etc.
I've been meaning to get around to starting my own thread here so why not on NPCCD? Just a single collection pic for now, I really need a new setup - there are lots of cards hiding in this picture All the decks have the cello removed and everything except for the limited KWS decks (thanks display decks!) has been opened and handled

Great collection! The OCD in me is screaming bloody murder. I mean, you split up Hello Tiki v2, KWP Crayons, Monoliths, HotRS. Just barbaric, lol.

Re: [hsbc] Cards, etc.
Awesome collection. We are pretty similar when it comes to taste. Great to see an A1 dot close to a Lotrék Sanctus and Silk .
The messiness gives it charm.
@Bacon You've split up Maduros and Arturians in your picture, you might wanna fix that first .

Re: [hsbc] Cards, etc.
Great collection. The hardest part of collecting for me is choosing which decks get to be displayed individually and which get stacked or put away so you cannot see the face of the tuck.

Great looking cabinet! Helps for not having to dust them as well.

What deck is the one between the Poker Deck of the Drowning World and the Standards deck with the A.Bandit No.1 on the top?

This looks pretty nice, displaying decks isn't easy, particularly if you want to keep the dust away lol.
I think that's literally the name of the deck, and it's from around 2013.Harvonsgard wrote:What deck is the one ... with the A.Bandit No.1 on the top?

This one? It is from 2011 though and has a seal. That is why I asked.Adonael wrote:This looks pretty nice, displaying decks isn't easy, particularly if you want to keep the dust away lol.

Would be cool if you could share some pic of the cards @hsbc. If they are opened.

Thanks I'm irrationally excited about not having to dustSTLBluesNut wrote:Great looking cabinet! Helps for not having to dust them as well.
That's the deck! They were on Art of Play once upon a time... Of course they are opened! Here you go:Harvonsgard wrote:This one? It is from 2011 though and has a seal. That is why I asked.

Jokers and ad cards:
That's exactly what I do because I hate seals I actually put them into a little notebook like so:Adonael wrote:Hey, I said around . Looking at the other decks, a lot of them seem suspiciously seal-free, very cool really to remove them so well if that is indeed the case.

Re: [hsbc] Cards, etc.
I would like to do that with seals. So many times if you try to remove them they peel up the foil and/or leave behind a sticky residue which collects uncleanable dirt.

Re: [hsbc] Cards, etc.
Some seals come off surprisingly easily (matte tuck material helps most of the time) and some are next to impossible (older decks especially) Start from a corner and peel as slowly as you can. Heat helps. If it leaves behind residue you can usually use a bare finger or thumb and rub it off - this can take anywhere between 30 seconds and an hour A good technique is to rub the residue towards its center and/or towards an edge, some will come off each time if you're pressing hard enough and it will accumulate in the middle making it easier to get off. Finally once you feel like your finger won't help anymore you can rub with a cloth - if the tuck is matte you can rub pretty hard! NOTE: sometimes this ever so slightly bends the paper, and in extremely awful cases the seal will just rip the paper up with it no matter what you try.

The case is really nice, but the way you have stocked it and set up the display really is awesome from a card collector perspective. You did a great job staging the decks and stuff in the case.

Re: [hsbc] Cards, etc.
I don't know whether anyone cares but here I am again The display is always a work in progress since I like to display what's new or seasonal I'm also trying to display the decks by artist but like everyone says it is hard to make it look good I'm working on finding suitable wood/glass displays - the Stockholm 17 decks are in a small wooden box, the Hana et al are on a cigar box, and the T11/Uusi decks are on what's meant to be a floating wall frame.
I'm also very glad to have gotten a Seasons display cabinet because now all my Alex Chin decks are on/in it

Re: [hsbc] Cards, etc.
Nice set of Ian's decks. Congrats.
I will also point out in the back is the Visconti Madrone Tarot. What do you think of the deck?

Working on redoing the cabinet but it's a slow process, too many decks

The art is great as is the overall package but I would prefer the cards to be from a top-tier printer even if that meant a bit less shine from the foil/metallic inks
