So I guess there's a planets style 4 deck 1/3 brick box, but it's only with the 4 deck set rewards including additional display decks not the sets without, I'm wondering what the 'display decks' are exactly.

I am near certain the display decks are the same decks in a slightly different tuck and unnumbered, which would be very similar to The Planets series.

That being said, that is good feedback. You really need to add some more information on the differences between the sealed and numbered versions and the display versions, even if the only difference is the numbered seal.

Looks that way. The way I read it, what Dave means is the extra box for 4 decks, somewhat similar to the Collodio version of the Pinocchio decks.

The outer box packaging refers to a cardboard setup box that will encase the 4-deck set. We're still finalizing details on this and design of the printing, but it will at least be a black cardboard case with foil printing on the outside. Stretch goals may include a numbered belly band and/or a carat case (similar to the planets set). Below are a couple rough images to give a better idea. I'll post more details/images about this in the campaign once they are finalized—Srdjan is working on the box design at the moment.

The display decks are cards only in whatever default packaging they come in (I think USPC decks will come in a white tuckbox and Cartamundi will come with no box, just cello wrap on the cards). Adding printed tucks to the display decks is considerably more expensive and may be a deep stretch goal but I don't think it will be likely. I'll post more details about these in the campaign as well (and they'll be available as add-ons too).

Just to clarify, the outer packaging will not be an addon...it will only come with the limited tiers that include numbered sets.

Yes, sorry- when I say "add-on" I mean something other than playing cards (coins, t-shirts, cases, etc.). 99% of the time I am just pledging for cards and only cards.

Volumes 1-3 (Red / Blue / Green) will be printed by USPC. Volume 4 (Black) will be printed by Cartamundi with gold foil.

With basically the same art on all decks, I went for just the fully blinged black deck.

However, this campaign is another example of what you can get for 15 and 20 dollar decks. Pretty much all the features and great courts. And they include free shipping.

That's why it is hard when I see a deck for 15 with basic design and plain glossy tucks.

Of course, in my true fashion, the only negative for me with these decks is the seals on the tuck flaps. Move them! Lol

As far as I can see they're standard decks, not proofs.

Correct. The only rewards with proof sets are the ones with the first 10 numbers. I think that is just 3 sets with proof decks #000. My guess is it is an oversight and the intent was to send two sets of display decks with the double set of limited decks. Hopefully it will be clarified one way or the other soon.

Can't decide between Green or Black, black is boring, but I don't like the back in monochrome. Someone will have to explain 'display decks' to me, it's the first campaign I've seen with them ever so it must be relatively new, why would I want to specifically display a plain white tuck? Seems like the last thing I would want to do.

Display is not for displaying the tucks, but displaying the decks. I don't think I am going to want to open the limited and sealed decks in that great four deck tuck, but would be planning to open the display decks to enjoy the art.

So it's a tuckist thing to see the cards without opening the deck, got it. Now that you mention it doesn't KWP do that sometimes I think I saw? I wonder if it will become a more common thing to do, of course it would be easier to just not put the seal on the top rather than have entire separate decks lol. Not for me I guess, I wouldn't want to show the cards without the proper tuck, art within art is part of the charm.

Yep, now he's essentially replaced the display decks with the "standard" decks - for some of his older decks JR made "proper" display decks (which IMO means a no-frills tuck, bonus points if it says "display" )
