Everything and anything related to your playing cards, projects and brand? You shouldn't try to avoid difficult subjects, it's all valid for discussion. You clearly should have let the affected backers know before shipping out their rewards, that was a dumb, easily avoidable mistake. It's also ridiculous for a backer to say they'll never support a creator again over a number of course, so I don't see any winners.

Regardless, I'm still incredibly underwhelmed by the artwork/ideas of the decks produced so far and the technology alone isn't near enough to sell me on one. I've said before, I genuinely look forward to seeing the tech applied to other more interesting and creative works through licensing etc if necessary, because it's obviously impressive but clearly the World City series isn't going to do it for me personally.

@VXD,

Is the BST time zone you're referring to UTC +1? If so, will the campaign be starting at about 26.5 hours from this message? If it is 1 minute past 11:59pm BST Friday, it is basically 12am BST Saturday, correct?

If so, then it'll translate to 6pm Central time where I live (in the USA), since Central time is UTC -5. :)

The more I see these decks, the more beautiful they are!

Thanks!

Hey James

Launch time is 11:59 PM London Time (BST) on Friday.

Yes, it suits the Americans better than the Europeans or Brits, but there is another reason for it being midnight London time (which will be obvious when you watch the video).

25.5 hours to launch...

Cheers

I was watching for this. I am a slow backer #34. I did manage to get th EB tier I wanted. They are all gone now. Wow, that was fast. It wasn’t a huge discount, but I’ll take it. The regular tier is fine too. Good luck.

I got the one of each deck EB tier (all 5 decks). $20 cheaper than the non-EB tier! But shipping charged me $25, so I guess I'll end up paying $5 more than the non-EB tier without shipping costs. :D :D :D

The Vegas Metal I got was already nearly too rich for my taste :o I think I'll be sticking to just the Classic editions for the rest of the cities, barring a color I really, really like

Grabbed a Classic EB so that's nice :D

:ucstar: Can someone please work their magic and get the KS header thingy right to the top of the thread? :ucstar:

Thanks to our backers from UC to London Diffractor...it's going well :)

Did absolutely zero marketing for this one (due to the work in Vegas fulfilment + the design for London concurrently, right up to launch), apart from a couple posts on Insta and this thread here. Marketing is the key area to focus on now for us in general. We get very strong support from our past project backers and the product does it's own talking now (with a little extra from me of course  ), so now it's about reaching a wider audience. I find the marketing side the hardest of all, being a bit of a social-media-phobe myself. We need a marketing manager....

Heads up all - Surprise coming on the London Diffractor, roughly mid-way ;)

Yeah, I am NOT going to take one of my Metal Ultraviolet Las Vegas decks out of its paper seal. I opened one of the two regular ultraviolet decks.

I would like to see a few more backers and a little more pledged so far, but you should be okay. Good luck with the campaign.

I still need to get my hands on the gold/ultraviolet decks... still kicking myself in the butt for not pledging for those in the vegas KS, only getting the classic tuck... -_-

Hopefully I can pull the trigger when the diffractor online shop is working in the next few months.. :)

I have to say, the more I look at these the more I'm started to be... not underwhelmed, but certainly less whelmed. As my criteria for buying decks continue to get more strict, the most recent realisation I've had is that I shouldn't get wow'ed or swayed by a single factor, because that doesn't redeem the entire deck. Like cool fan aesthetics, or foil, or... diffraction. Hypothetically, take away the diffraction and I probably wouldn't have bought any of the VXD releases. I like the Vegas deck more than this one, and by having that I don't feel the need to buy more diffractor decks unless they bring something new or extraordinary to the table.

Just wanted to share.

I agree, there's an extreme lack of color - especially with the non-foiled decks:

Yeah, that's a big part of it. I get that they want the focus to be on the diffraction, but at some point it's just not enough anymore.

I agree. Just got the Vegas deck and the tuck is VERY lackluster. It was wicked cool to receive 3 extra secret 8's cards but their beauty only further emphasized the plainness of the standard tuck. I would have loved to own the foiled tucks but aside from a Lotrek deck here and there, I don't usually spend that much on cards.
I'm in on a London EB for now and I will wait to see what this 10 day surprise is but unless it knocks my socks off I might back out. Simply because the Vegas and London decks aren't different enough for the price. In other words I'm extremely happy to own a piece of this technology and am happy with my Vegas purchase but I can't justify $35 more on the same. But again, let's see what this surprise is..

Paul

I get what you are saying for those who will never open the Classic deck and see what's inside....then you have some black and white artwork tuck with some embossing only. Bland, I get it, I agree.

:ucstar: However, I ask anyone on UC this question, to consider:

Where can you buy a deck of playing cards that has been INDIVIDUALLY FOILED ON ALL 54 CARD FACES...that's a separate metal stamping plate designed and manufactured (200 Euro each) for every card face....for $29 ($25 if you catch the EB)??

All the color and value is inside!

Thanks for backing us :)

You are correct. And to be clear I'm not complaining. I wish the tuck I bought had more to it but I'm at least happy to own a deck in a standard tuck rather than the tin thing. My only point is that I don't know if it's worth it to own two. But as of now I'm in. So we'll see.

The “tin thing” is actually aluminum, not tin (I know you know this). I get where you are coming from. However, after getting the Stars and Stripes set, and handling it in person, I appreciate it far more than from just photos. It really is sweet. Even so, with limited funds, I get going for cards over bling.
