More Colour? I thought all the beavers you guys used for currency were brown!!!
It's obvious that Jackson is a designer before a cardist. I'm thrilled he took his design to playing cards for my selfish purposes of collecting. I feel like some designs on Kickstarter that more artist and design oriented that use playing cards as their media don't come out as nice.
HOWEVER, being a cardist, I would LOVE to see and uncut sheet of this! And I'd also like to know about jokers and gaffs.
I have backed too, sometimes I think it is a great thing I am not a magition and have do not have to worry about things like 1 way backs. All I have to do is like the design.
Hey guys, my name is Jackson Robinson. I'm the designer behind the Federal 52 Deck. I was invited to join in the conversation about my deck. Already getting some feedback. Thanks for inviting me to the party.

These are beautiful. Soon US money will probably be the same value of these facsimiles so it is
fitting. The cards are a little expensive and I have been holding off on KS due to the BS but I may
give these a whirl. KS is starting to remind me of a lottery ticket. You put your money in and sometimes
you get something.
I'm amazed at the response. As we speek I am working up a add on sheet for extras. I wanted to keep my pledge tiers super simple and all about the decks. By the time this project is over there will be tons more stuff than just the decks.
My rough plan for adding on decks will be like this:
If you pledged for the Early Bird Deck ($11 Deck) you can add on extra decks. The prices to add on decks will be the same as the Base tiers.
Deck add on prices:
1 deck Add $15
2 decks Add $28 ($14 per deck)
3 decks Add $39 ($13 per deck)
4 decks Add $48 ($12 per deck)
5 decks Add $55 ($11 per deck)
8 decks Add $80 ($10 per deck)
I will also be releasing the Uncut sheets tonight as well, for $50.
If you watched the video you can see some of the original Ace Inks that I did by hand. I will be making those available as well. I haven't settled on a price for those cuz they are all one offs and originals. Keep throwing ideas and questions my way. Im only an artist that has a love of the card design, so I don't know some of the ins and outs of what collectors and or magicians are looking for.
Your ace of spades (by itself without the border) and the Federal 52 art from the back would both make for cool Tshrt designs singularly if you wanted to go that route and add them to a level. Adding a coin would fit right into the money theme. You've got a lot to work with from the art you've already done.
coins and T-shirts are good, but watch it with the "Fluff Items" keep it simple. have you checked on what it cost you to ship 5 decks. oddball in a box.
One of the reasons the Aristocrat 727 Banknotes deck is one of my favorite decks is the resemblance they have to currency in their design. This deck has the same appeal in a more literal interpretation. There's so much to love about the Federal 52 deck, but there are some significant downsides that have already been mentioned as well.
For $10 decks, the standard to which I compare them to is the Seasons decks. Does this particular deck come close to the Primavera/Seronda deck? If the answer is yes, then I pledge or buy. If the answer is no, then why buy an overpriced deck? At the $15 price point for a single deck, I would say this is prohibitively expensive. At $10 per deck, I would purchase a brick of the Federal 52 deck without even blinking. At a $12-$15 price point, maybe only a couple just for the sake of the collection, because these do favorably compare to the Seasons decks imo.
I really wish Jackson could've made a two-way design for the back. The one way design limits the potential for this deck so much. The court cards and the spot cards are so exquisite that I wish they could come with a correspondingly exquisite and versatile back design.
This deck could've been one I, and many others, could've been extremely excited about (and it's still generating a lot of buzz despite the downsides) but it comes up just a bit short due to the one way back and the high price point. This could've been a contender for deck of the year 2013...
Check out the Founders deck that just closed on Kickstarter, Jackson. Wildly successful and in a similar vein as yours with its traditional theme. Normally I wouldn't go for the extras but in the case of Founders I did because the whole package was so well done.
