Cardistry-Con 2019 Deck

Produced by Art of Play, so far the only photos I've came across:

The box and the deck both fit eachother pretty well. Really love the box. The cards aren't too bad either. I'd probably get some if theyre available online :O.

Tuck box is extremely nice, but the cards... give me a gigantic mixture of Pi + Echo + A1WW HIE vibe.

Haha, the cards have a nice colour of green. I don't think I've seen anyone use that before. Really like the colour way.

Now that the Tally Hos apparently seem to have an annual deck series like this, all others pale in comparison as far as I'm concerned.

Tuck box is cool. The rest, pretty underwhelming. Kind of disappointing after the other CC decks. Might be the first that I don’t buy.
chicken_ql wrote:... if theyre available online :O.
Most definetly. Art of Play always sells them after CC at their site.

There is a good reason I might not get this: the "Cards come from paper/Paper comes from trees/Card-is-try" message is messed up. I've heard that they'll be donating part of the earnings from this deck to planting trees (unverified info), but if that's true, this message is pure hypocrisy when the whole card frenzy thing in cardistry is just supporting more trees being cut down.

Not really. Biggest consumption of wood is for hygiene papers, tissues, baby diapers and other stuff. Print industry is rather small in comparison. Therefore, using a butt toilette (dunno the english word xD) instead of whipping your butt with toilet paper would have a way bigger impact than not buying playing cards. ^^

This isn't a relativity issue, and that counter-argument is irrelevant. This is just like saying that since supercars and luxurious vehicles consume a relatively small percentage of gas---albeit more in quantity per car and more polluted in the fuel's composition---daily Toyotas and Fords...etc. combine for a massive proportion of oil consumption. Therefore, before condemning and asking to limit the number of super luxurious V12 cars, why don't you lay people stop driving daily commutable cars first?

Any reduction IS reduction.
I don't see any hype in daily toilet papers or diapers which are necessities, but plenty of waste from hype in cardistry. Just how many decks are thrown away after one month use, you think? Also, how many card buyers would give up decks to install butt toilettes? ;)

I just respond because some people may actually falsly believe what some spread here.

Cardistry causes zero to none impact on the environment but that is irrelevant? And something that is one of the biggest issues is not relevant because it doesn’t fits you? And that is logic for you?
You falsly accused a whole community, and if one calls bs it doesn’t count? Am I in bizarro world xD?

Any reduction is reduction? Sure, go ahead, instead of pointing with your finger in the wrong direction, lead by example. Stop buying decks and stop promoting decks. But before you admit that you’re part of the problem as a collector, you rather make excuses and choose the o so cheap, “but they are worse than me!” (which they aren’t in fact - only in your subjective perception.)

... done, you can’t help people that drive their agenda. I just hope people don’t believe what you just wrote here and do proper research.

No, your first question contradicts itself, nothing is zero to none impact, and you're talking about the whole printing industry in your former response.

And no, this is a playing card forum, so how relevant is defending cards wastes with toilet paper + diaper's wastes while making a bold statement that printing and cards have zero to none impact on the environment?

No, I do not exclude myself from the issue, collectors are part of the reason cards sell. That said, the issue that I raised is the hypocrisy behind hyping card sales while making the cards/cardistry/"card is tree" link as if the deck is eco-friendly. Besides, if you were so attentive to the scene, you might have realized that some cardists have been outspokenly criticizing that how cardistry has evolved into producing and selling branded decks, and that Cardistry-Con has become part of the base where playing card companies use as a market to sell as much decks as possible. J&T will be there, heck, even Bocopo will be there, so will many more. So yeah, get it straight, it was this deck that made the cardistry connection, not me pointing a finger to a certain community. I have no issue against cardistry, but don't try to act like this Cardistry-Con titled deck gives a d*&n about forest sustainability, especially using card-is-try(tree) as a marketing scheme.

Edit: Anyways, that's my personal reason for not getting this deck. So if you're liking the deck, go on and purchase.

Just notice that.....

Yes is BS...but will still getting it because i dig the colour with this design.

Now of days that how marketing works. Its is either "Hey dumb ass i found this deck" (ellusoinst) or some gimmick like this or even worst like NOCs. The only exception is theory 11 so far.

Lots and lots of cardistry decks do weird stuff like that with the ad cards, I think this deck just doesn't have good ones

I love the colours!!! Gorgeous work!

I'd maybe had a couple of the circles ends bleed over the border, like on the back design of the broken borders deck. Would look great when the decks fanned!

Well, even using a butt toilet, don't you still need something to dry off with? I think toilet paper would fit the bill as there is no way I'm saving and washing a bunch of butt towels.

I definitely like the tuck. Cool color scheme and design. I am not a cardist, so I will pass on this one. Just curious: why did they decide to do a deck seal that is just a Supreme ripoff? Not to say the Supreme logo is anything earth-shattering, but why try to mimic the look so closely? The other small annoyance I have is that the "mountain" over the Ace of spades pip does not match the left side curve.

Hype brands are big in cardistry, Supreme is a hype brand - I think that's all there is to it

In graffiti culture it is called ad busting. You take something that is so famous that people instantly recognize it (e.g. Coke font or in this case the supreme box logo) and change it to advertise yourself. Seeing this, will make you keep it in mind, because that tiny contradiction of seeing the supreme box logo that isn't a supreme box logo confuses you and makes you think about it.

Interesting but to sum up Cardistry cardist?....they just want hyped up stuff, so no surprise they are using / most likely "inspired" to use"supreme font"

Good for target practice for the Falcon or Banshee throwing decks.
