Vanda auctions: Planets LE SET now available...

Unread post by davegk »

Hey guys,

We fixed most of the auction feature issues and are now ready to start auctioning off the remaining LE decks from The Planets. First up is Mercury LE #216/500.

Link: https://vandacards.com/products/mercury-le-deck-116

I'll be adding more auctions in the upcoming week along with a dedicated page that will list any active/upcoming auctions.

The Mercury LE #216/500 just sold for a crazy price...
The first and runner up price difference was $50 apart!!!

Yup I was about to say... are the LE decks really worth that much?? Luckily I still have my full LE set from the campaign, but jeez, $111 is crazy... On the contrary, the Venus LE deck sold for $45.. really curious to how the rest will sell now..

The Mercury LE is particularly hard to get. I was thinking about getting that one and a Venus if the price was right, but neither was at my price point. The Venus went for a much more reasonable price. Glad the money goes back to David though. The auctions should be fun. Although, I miss Jackson's flash auctions.

Actually, what may have happened is that the bidder may have thought it was max bid that would only go up if someone was right below you. But that didn’t happen. Your bid is fully realized. That happened to me on the Venus auction, and it surprised me a little bit.

First time I've seen a creator 'sell' their own decks. Hopefully it'll carry over to Ebay as of a good average price range.

Since there was so much demand for the remaining LE decks, I decided this is the only fair way to give everyone a chance to purchase them. Trying to make them available at a specific day/time and having a mad rush to purchase was too difficult logistically and also impossible to pick a time that works for everyone who is interested.

Also, you can now view all current running auctions as well as a list of upcoming auctions here:
https://vandacards.com/pages/products-on-auction

I'll be updating the upcoming auctions regularly so check back in to see what's new.

Thanks!

Regarding the LE Set. I do not got enough money to spent, but I wonder if it is number #162/500 like said in the title, or #214/500 like said in the description?
Thank you for selling them on Auction, btw.

$400 as of this writing. Weird, because I just took mine off of ebay that I have had listed with a BIN of $325 for months, so I decided to keep it for myself despite already having the regular set.

The bidder who placed the $400 bid emailed me to say he didn't intend to bid that amount. He was the same bidder who had placed the previous bid of $330 so I've adjusted the price back to his previous bid.

Are you doing a proxy bidding system?

The "Place automatic bid" link below the bid entry field will allow you to place a proxy bid. However, if you place a standard bid it will accept whatever amount you put in as the current bid, even if you yourself have placed the highest bid already (I contacted the auction app developer and apparently this can't be changed).

Is there some reason you're not just selling these on eBay? You'd have built-in ratings and a system people know well :D

A few reasons...

- These auctions work like products in my shopify store so the orders can be fulfilled easily by GW without me having to take extra steps to coordinate between ebay and fulfillment.
- This allows auction winners to add other products to their order to save on shipping of multiple decks if they choose to do so
- This drives additional traffic to my website and creates more visibility of other products and projects
- I don't currently have a verified ebay account set up with reviews/ratings so I feel like there's actually more credibility in this case to sell directly on vandacards.com
- I don't have to pay fees to ebay

Okay, I put a bid on #1 (because the #14 and #15 I have are just too high . Now, no one out bid me or prepare to feel my wrath!

Nope, just checked and I have been over bid several times over. :( I'm out. Good luck to those still in the game. If you win, you will have a lower number then me (and everyone else unless there is a zero number in the series ).

They were available during both the 1st and 8th campaigns.

I snagged one of them in the last one. Wanted to make sure the series went the distance.

Yep. TeoPiece is right. In the Mercury campaign there was an option to buy the full set. I bought two full LT and STD sets. I nearly pulled the trigger on set #1 and 2 tier, but someone took it (and then didn’t pay for it!). My hesitation was that it was just the two LE sets and I would have two add two STD sets if I wanted them. I guess because I was an Early 2 set backer I got one of the lowest number sets.

My tier was $440, but I still had to add for the Carat cases and shipping. The #1 and #2 tier was $475, but no STD sets included. The current bid for the #1 set is $355, with 20 hours to go. Doh! I should have snagged that tier when I had the chance.

Until tomorrow at 3pm PST, you can buy a full standard planets set in carat case and sleeve for $135, which is great. The Kickstarter cost was $80 for the decks and I think $35 for the custom carat case, so only $20 more than Kickstarter. That’s a nice deal.

For the record, the #1/2 LE set tier was $475 and DID include 2 SE sets as well...so yeah, it was a great deal ;)

Your right about the Standard sets. I was so sure it didn’t in my mind. Dang! That was a deal. I remember now though I was originally in a single full LE and SD set, and later snagged a double set of both when someone dropped from that tier. Good luck on the auction. Some great prices currently on single LE decks. A Mercury LE is currently at $83.71, but all the others are below $20.

I’ve got a set of each, I was just curious as to how “single” sets were achieved. I remember now. THAT tier on Mercury campaign worked out to just under $600 here (pretty much a week’s wage for me) so I bought piecemeal.
