Hey collectors,

I’ve been working on a custom deck for an agency that I work for. They were trying to make a cheap-o deck to give out to clients and then I got a hold of it. Since I felt it needed to be professionally printed (because I want to use them) it turned into a way bigger effort and now it’s going to be a Kickstarter. Can’t wait to share it with folks. Here is a little sneak peek at this passion project. Love cards and I have always wanted to make a series of cards. This is my first attempt and it has been a long time coming. Love to know what you think. More to come soon.

I'm not into cardistry or into collecting cardistry decks but those look incredible. Great start! You likely won't have any problems funding, assuming your courts and tuck are even close to what you've posted. Best of luck and it's a good thing you took control

So it’s finally launch time. My name is Duane Cardinez (hence Cardinistry) and I’m a designer at an agency in Culver City, CA. We recently relocated and slightly rebranded ourselves, so it’s been a hectic couple of months. I was tasked with designing some promotional playing cards for clients and partners. Little did my agency know, they asked a card maniac! Welcome to CLUB PITCH. We work hard and party harder. This project is the perfect marriage of the two.

I kind of like these. The color combo is nice. I do like the border on these with the color gradient. Not generally a fan of standard courts, even recolored or slightly tweaked.

I'll put a save this for later on this project and revisit it again.

Here’s the deal. In the past we used to have the casino, San Manuel, as a client and I designed a set of playing cards for them. As a card enthusiast, I was excited to get a custom set designed produced. However, we ended our contract with the client before the cards were actually realized. I’ve been bummed about this missed opportunity for a while. So when the opportunity came up to design cards again, I jumped on the chance and made sure this was going to happen. The agency was trying to make a couple hundred quick and easy decks to give out to clients and partners, but all that changed when I got a hold of the project. My intention was not to have the most complex printing, compared to Parlour Playing Cards, but my vision still ended up too expensive and too high in volume with the 1K minimum. Not wanting to give up that easy, I talked our CEO into running a Kickstarter to show that there is interest out there for some interesting cards. I don't imagine the run to be more than 1200 units.
 
Design-wise, CLUB PITCH cards are based on our revised brand identity and even takes cues from things found in our office. The back is a black on black rendition of a Culver-LA map found in our conference room. It also relates to the mantra found on the jokers which state “Find Your Sound, Find Your Story”. We have a tree inside the building which is where the focus on the suit of clubs is derived.

This is not it. Best of luck as this is still way better than most of the BS cardistry decks.

I think these colors and neat borders will be right up a cardists alley. If I were a cardist, I would definitely buy these. I agree that these are much better than many many decks out there. Good job on the design.

As a designer for another agency: Good use of lines and shapes, decent color. Interesting transitions. A good technical deck. Question though: Is the increse in saturation on the J-Q-K large corner pips intentional?

Yes! You noticed! I didn't want to spell out everything on the campaign page, but the blacks and the greens do get more saturated as they get more powerful. The 3 greens are same as on the edges of cards. Small detail but I feel like it was worth it. Good eye.

Overall a good design. Only downside for is the Ace of Spades. I don't like the Club being in the Spade again, but as mentioned, other than that, a nice deck. All the best for the campaign.

Yeah, for the brick, we will eat remainder shipping cost. I will holler if I can find a better method of shipping 2 or 3 decks.

Hell, I'd be hard pressed to pay almost $30 a deck for something I am wild about.

I can't control the shipping unfortunately. I know its frustrating which is why I didn't set up international shipping on launch. At the moment, I'm seeing options for a flat rate up to 4lbs. but it's giving me the same price no matter what weight I enter. This is my first Kickstarter, do you have any insight on how international packages under a lb (16 oz) are usually shipped?

Added new international options for the 1x deck and 2x deck rewards. Ask and you shall receive.
