Does anyone think maybe this raised funds too fast for a rookie creator? I mean, now he is saying a new deck not mentioned before in the campaign to get even more money?TheGentlemanWake wrote:The Black/Gold Parlour officially UNLOCKED! More info later!
Come on, rookie campaign. Skyrocketing pledges. Deck unlocked in like 4 hours. Its fishy.

Re: The Parlour Playing Cards (TGW) April 15th, 12PM Eastern
There is nothing fishy going on here. TGW is using an expericed designer and has a strong following of his own. It is not surprising to me this is doing well. What is interesting to me is that about half of the funding amount comes from brick sets! Given the brick box planned and the cost for a brick, it was a no-brained for me to back a brick. That is very impressive to me. Six more hours to pledge for an EB Tier.

So, can we add an early-bird split brick as an add-on to our first early-bird split brick?

But just in case it isn't:
TGW has been around here awhile, is a prominent (IMO best) reviewer on YouTube for playing cards, and the project is collaborated on by Lorenzo and Lotrek. I couldn't have more 'faith'.

In all seriousness, thank you so much man! That's high praise! One of the (gentlemanly) qualities I strive for is being responsible. It won't be lost on me the way this community has not only accepted what we do but embraced us (speaking for the Wife and everyone one who's ever been involved in anything we've done under the TGW banner)!

Honestly, when you all said that the brick set would be upgraded to 4/4/4 for the same cost, I have been looking under the sofa to get another brick, but I have to save some for Jody's campaign. However, that brick is a HECK of a great deal now. No wonder they are flying off the shelf. Congrats though on an amazing start.

Re: The Parlour Playing Cards (TGW) April 15th, 12PM Eastern
Last call for EB's on this campaign. A bit less than an hour and a half to go. Although, I think the regular prices are still great. I am not sure I can hold onto it, but I am going in for a second brick...I just have to try. Just a few bucks from the 300% stretch goal. I can't wait until the brick box is revealed and see folks reaction.
Nevermind. While I was typing this, 300% streach goal was busted! Whooh! Big deal.

It was such blast to watch the kickstarter going like crazy yesterday. Congratulations to The Gentleman Wake. I mean everybody in here knew that this campaign is a no brainer and would be funded in less than 24 hours - but 28 minutes!? What a ride.
Take notes kid. Treat your community with respect. Put work and effort into something - Boom, success! I just can't stretch enough how well deserved this is.

This brick idea is genius and has paid off massively. Even I’m considering one (and I’m not allowed )
As part of my research I checked all past funded KS campaigns and the average pledge per backer on successful campaigns is a pretty consistent €40. TGW has been running at €60 per backer for pretty much the whole time. Great campaign design congrats to you and Lorenzo!

I've got the EB pair + Black/Gold add-on, would this still be cheaper than the Trio set?

The EB brick price was just too good to not go in on. $130 shipped for 12 decks designed by TGW, Lorenzo, and Lotrek? To me that's already insane value. And, as mentioned, my 1st brick pledge.
Has it been mentioned whether or not we can add-on bricks at EB prices if we pledged on that tier? I would seriously consider adding another 1 or even 2(!) more bricks at that price.
Most of the people I play poker/euchre/etc with will love these. I will probably get tons of use out of them (and need tons of backups). They're more standard than the Gemini decks which has been the favorite fully-custom deck for playing cards games (so far).

Just so we include in this thread the draft design for the brick boxes (to be made by Lotrek of course, so you know foil is going to happen).
Also, in looking carefully at the design, the cut out will reveal all three variants.
