I did the designs for this and all projects that Diane ran while we were married. I'm not sure why she thought this was a good idea since she literally signed a contract giving me full ownership of all artwork that I did during our marriage.
I took a rather large break from playing cards but will soon be getting things moving again. I'm currently doing a Apollo 11 deck but it's more for history buffs and not collectors.
The goal isn't enough to get printed by the cheapest printer... let alone ship it to the backers.
Count the court cards and ask why aren't all 12 shown. That's because I only did enough to do the Kickstarter project. If it funded (in 2014) I would have finished it. That's why I'm warning people. Diane doesn't have the skill or ability to finish this deck.

I just notified my lawyer to give her lawyer a call. Ironically we have a court appearance tomorrow. That's probably why she's launched two of my old projects with six day funding goals. She's more than likely looking to make some quick money to pay for her lawyer.

Smh. A lot of people are trash. I've seen desperation in people doing whatever it takes to pay their lawyer fees that they can't afford (over problems they created in the first place).


I was on board with this project back in 2014 when it should've funded while everything else did. It's really bad after this "2nd" attempt, these cards might never be created.

This project was indubitably dishonest, and would almost certainly have resulted in months, if not years, of frustration for backers with no tangible result. Some of the contributors on this forum no doubt could surmise this from simple indicators (like the short funding period and low goal), but other less experienced potential backers perhaps might need more explicit warning.

I do not speak for VJose32, but I know that I thought it useful to attempt to provide such a warning in our own, different ways. I believe that just before KS pulled the project for potential IP infringement, it was made clear, in the Project Creator’s own words and by her inability to provide the evidence she herself offered (complete vector files of the artwork), that this project would not be fulfilled.

However, one of the last comments by another backer, just moments prior to the project being taken down by KS, was that he was reducing his pledge (not cancelling), just in case the project was a total loss, thus proving that you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink. I think this aptly illustrates both, or either, that warning some people is a fruitless endeavour, and that even more effort must be made to keep KS a safe and useful platform for everyone, including members of UC.

If dishonest Project Creators are not definitively exposed in open forum, then it is all too easy for them to slink away, only to reappear later with a load of lame excuses and claim persecution with a “he said, she said…”, or “no, I never said that…” argument. Hence, my somewhat lengthy campaign to elicit the truth about this KS Project on it’s KS Comments page.

But I notice there have been some snide comments and even a clever (oh, so very, very, clever) screenshot on this forum making fun of the creator of this project. I already know far too much about her unfortunate family situation, and have no wish to know more, or to insert myself into it any further than I feel has already been necessary, but was that really appropriate ?

Expose the deceit, of course, but mock an obviously deeply distressed individual not for her actions, but for her family problems ? And on a different forum, with all your buddies yucking it up, where the target won’t see ? I know that my own tone throughout the KS Comments exchange is not immune to criticism, and of that I am not proud, but eating popcorn on the sidelines while watching another human being breakdown in front of you ? Is that what card collectors do ?

She’s back already! She has relaunched her notepad on her account with a 3 day project $600 goal. And has launched her new Chevelle deck on his account with a $1500 goal and also a short campaign! Definitely avoid them! Definitely desperate for cash. Also pretty sure she has no legal permission on the Chevelle stuff from GM!

First of all, I warned of the suspicious campaign at the very beginning when I posted this, not knowing about their marital controversies, and this is also what you've proposed. Concerning their marital issues, my sir, I think you may have been too attached to what they are saying on the campaign page, which in the first place shouldn't be on Kickstarter at all. If you're asking that people should be empathetic towards a "deeply distressed individual for her family problems," you might be the one who's misled and had cared too much about the whole situation.

The points I've made in this thread was to raise suspicion about the fulfillment and honesty of this project, and the jabs that you've claimed that I or "UC card collectors" had made was merely to ease the anxiety with the whole situation HERE, a place where outsiders don't get involved in the heap of fire over THERE. The whole purpose of this thread is to focus on whether this is a trustworthy project regardless of the personal issues the creators have. So if you are having issues with UC people's comments and are trying to expose that UC members are heartless a-holes that don't care about a damsel in distress, I'd say you've just exposed yourself as the self-righteous guy who cares too much about the creator's personal issues and not about the common well-being of potential project backers that may be hurt in the end.

I took a moment to read through the campaigns and oh my god... they are so bad. On Diane's campaign she goes off on a mini rant to talk about how terrible her ex husband was and how it inspired whatever it is she's trying to fund. Then she includes pics of her holding up sketches that were clearly taken using her webcam. Yikes.

I think you should re-read what I wrote in my previous post, not what you think or assume I wrote.

I made it very clear that I have no sympathy for this person’s actions on KS. I also made no claims that her various rants in the KS Comments section were based on fact, or reflected her true situation. I went out of my way to avoid making any judgement on her personal affairs.

I have no idea about her actual, true circumstances, but what I do know is that she is deeply distressed. No-one who followed her increasingly bizarre comments on KS could possibly think that this was the behaviour of a stable, well adjusted and healthy person. And I know that you did follow her comments on KS, because you posted here that you considered it to be “entertainment”.

What I actually did was to criticise certain members of UC for mocking this person, not for her obviously dishonest conduct, but for her family situation. I do not think there is any doubt that she is divorced, is there ? I have not been taken in by her story there, have I ? Divorce is an unpleasant experience that constitutes a family situation, or am I wrong ?

Therefore, did you mock her family situation ? Yes you did.

This is a public internet forum, open for all to see if they wish – there are no “Outsiders”. Moreover, the tendency to hide your behaviour does not usually make it better, quite the contrary, as my previous comment tried to point out. If you are so proud of your comments, why did you not make them to her face, on the KS Comments page ?

My criticism was of this one instance of behaviour towards a person who was in distress. I made no comment about the justification for this page, your other actions on this forum or anywhere else. I would not care if you claimed to be kind to dogs either – it would not be relevant to this discussion.

There's no drama on my end. I fully encourage her to work on any projects she wants. I'm just not going to let her use my designs and claim they are hers. It's an insult and it's a greater insult having her current husband claim he did my designs. That car deck is 100% her. If you like it, back it. But the short funding period and low goal should make you question her intentions.
The playing card design sketpads are 100% my concept and I have a contract that proves I own the IP. I'll probably report it to Kickstarter. I'd like to point out that since the family drama started, I've never even went back to take a second look at the campaign. If you want to talk about behavior on this forum and make assumptions about how other people are judging by the face value of phrasing, you might have a tough time hanging around here.
