Okay this one is wicked cool. Designed by Chad Cameron, commissioned by San Francisco Chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). The theme is the culture of San Fransico in the late 90's. There was one deck on etsy... AND I BOUGHT IT FOR MYSELF :D I had to have it ship to Sherman to California, but I'll get it eventually.

I dream of a world where wars are fought only by having dance offs. I also dream that a Finnish playing card designer would exist. The former seems more likely to happend.

So my deck arrived today. Full Scans Here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/167981955 ... 7864228625

Now, onto business.

It is in no way a working, or usable deck. It has a modern cut, and the stock is thick cover stock, with a matte finish. They do not fan, spread, or faro. This may be due to the age of the cards and they way they were kept before (they smell a bit of my grandmothers attic). The cards are in good condition, but the tuck has seen better days.

There are 4 unique jokers, each with a little fact about the deck such as the paper types, suppliers, designers, and printers. The Ace of Spades is the only one of the aces that has text other than the index on the card.

Personal opinion: The art is fantastic. Its beautiful, funny, completely irreverent, and definitely portrays the subject that they were going for (late 90s stereotypes) . The pips are wonderful and could easily be posters by themselves. I would say it is a very well thought out and designed deck, despite poor execution on the finer details of card making. This is very much an art deck and I am enjoying it greatly.
