I'm thinking real hard on this. I find the concept and the art very interesting and the colors are great! I really like the backs of the ruby deck. First time really considering an add on becuase that art book seems to be pretty neat. Some of the larger insects with the pips all drawn in them and the detail is amazing.

Just so many irons in the fire right now and with no mention of embossing or foil or matte stock for the tucks. I'm just really on the fence. There is just something about the art that is great though.

Also, being labelled as a transformation deck? Maybe semi transformation from my understanding of the terms.

I know it is one way, which many just don't like pretty much no matter what, but I really like the art of the bugs and the colors on the backs. Especially the orange and purple of the Ruby deck.

On the number cards you can see all the bugs are hand drawn different not just the same copy pasted bug 2 to 10 times.

Hi - I'm the designer of this deck, & apols, I didn't see this post initially! Re tucks - I would like to embellish if I get past my goal... But since this is only my second kickstarter, with a bigger funding target than my first, I'm a tad cautious & I don't wanna go wild with stretch goals. If I get past the initial goal, fancying up the tucks is definitely the first thing I'll be approaching Cartamundi about.

Thanks and have a great day

Wish you varied the bug position for each number card. All 3's for example in same position looks odd to me. Good luck.
Move on, nothing to see here.

Thanks, that's something for me to think about while doing the editing for print. I'm also looking again at the card back designs.

I like the ruby deck back. I don't mind it being one way. Maybe a change on the background behind the big bug but definitely keep the big bug. I love the colors of the ruby deck for sure.

Hi there - if anybody here has time to give me thoughts on these ideas for possible 2-way card back designs for this deck, I'd be grateful - https://drimmysmith.tumblr.com/post/183 ... igns-these" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'm not convinced to change the current design right now, but I'd really appreciate your feedback given a lot of folks here are better versed than me in card art. Whether or not I change the card back designs for this current project, I figure it's all valuable learning for future decks.

Thanks & have a great day

I don't like the ones with the "I" in the middle. The back with the bugs looking at each other is good but I'm wondering if there's a way to put 4 bugs in each corner (like the angels on the Rider back) and something in the middle maybe? Please keep in mind that I'm very biased and only like 2way backs.

Hi Immy, of the ones you show there, I like the ones with the two insects facing each other the best (called test 1). After that your current (oneway) designs.

First of all, I like the original backs. A one way design does not bother me on this deck.

If there were a change to 2 way, I like test 1 2 and 3. With the sideways big bugs being the one I like most. If the bugs were facing each other, perhaps make the bugs bigger and in opposing corners so they are staggered and the heads are kind of side by side.

I also like the background where the smaller bugs are white and the field is a color gradient, that was a great thought and wouldn't mind that background behind the one big one way bug.

On the 2 way designs, either the colored small bugs or the colored field, you kind of lose the purple. Seems the color gradient is only the orange and red where the original color gradient on the small bugs was orange red and purple. My opinion is to keep the purple in the color gradient no matter the design chosen.

Thanks all. I hadn't thought of either of those ideas with the bugs in the corners... That might make it possible for the bugs to bigger on the 2 way designs - def worth having a poke at to see what happens anyway. Good point about the gradient too. I like the gradient in the original design because it of the colours in the corners (not symmetrical tho, obvs.) Anyway, I really appreciate your feedback, so thanks again :)

Have a great evening

Very much looking forward to these decks. I also like the original, but from the tests, Test 1 seems better.

The one thing I do prefer in Test 1/2 to the original is the 2 way background. The gradient in the original on the background bugs seems to unbalance the overall look.

I just recieved my deck and it looks great! I specifically wanted to point this out here because it think you all know my almost hatred for seals lol. The seal on this deck was inside on the cello! I was very surprised to see this and I love it!

Any designer seeing this, please please do this if seals are a must. The cards can still be secure and untampered with, people who care still get their numbered seal and even if you open your decks, you don't have to ruin the seal or tuck to open them.

Great idea, Immy!! To use some language from her updates, no wankf@#keredly seal on the tuck! Yay!Image

I like my seals on the flap, actually sealing the tuck and the cards inside. I want collectors to suffer when they cut a seal    !
Everytime I cut a flap seal open it just feels:

Hey all - thanks so much for all your feedback on the decks :D :D I'm glad folks have been enjoying the Kickstarter updates too, I really liked making them (& reading the comments!) I dunno what the rules here are on profanity, but I hope we all expanded our vocabulary, I know I did

& re seals - I also hate seals on the outside of tucks. Each to their own preference and all, but since I'm making the kind of fully illustrated decks I'd like to see more of... I'm sticking with the kind of seals I like too, because gah! Messy seals on tucks. I cannot. Also this way I can at least check the tucks for problems (like the damage inside the top flap that got tucks replaced by Cartamundi,) and give each deck a once over before numbering & sending.

Thanks again & have a good un,
Immy
