*OFFICIAL* 2018 'Deck of the Year' Awards
Re: *OFFICIAL* 2018 'Deck of the Year' Awards
Hi guys, sorry I'm a bit late to the party on this, we're really excited to have won Best for Magic with our DMC ELITES v.4 deck - we've worked really hard on the project for a few years now and I'm so hyped that we won this. Many many thanks to the organisers of the awards and of course to everyone who took time to vote for our deck ❤

No, nothing to regret. Besides that being one of the funniest videos for us on UC, You got some really nice decks. If they reach you in 1 piece and not like 2pc's handle. Do let us know how they arrived eh?Calypso wrote:I regret nothing!*

This cracked me up, so bad.TwoPiece wrote:Update: I've selected the decks. They've been (literally) thrown in the box. I've recorded the video. Uploading it to YT right now.
Edit: Here it is:

I was busy in moving house and my spouse liked that framed Ganjifa card such that she is insisting we get it on one of our walls here. Because, I already promised it as a reward here, so here is the deal. I am offering a prototype Motley Pack decks that is very unique with one of the first back designs that didn't make it finally.
Check the full bleed pattern back here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BsNBBFxBPzr/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I printed only one with this back design through MPC as the first artist proof.
Because, I already offered it, the Ganjifa card with or without frame is on the table already but if a winner would like, they could swap it with the this unique Motley pack Heritage edition artist proof deck. Just let me know the choice and will send that across.
To sweeten the deal, it will accompany Divine Art prototype deck with another unique back design that didn't make it finally. Both decks are unique & rare artist proofs.

I think that, at bare minimum, he'll have some nice decks to play with. I don't see the cards themselves taking any hits. I would love it if that Madison deck spontaneously combusted, though.
I have a huge box of "to-sell" decks that I pulled from. I made sure to pick at least 6 that I really love.

Re: *OFFICIAL* 2018 'Deck of the Year' Awards
CONGRATULATIONS! The thought and effort you put into the DMC ELITES V4's design really makes it shine as an exemplar deck, perfect for performance! The 'Best for Magic' Category def had some really tough competition, most particularly against the White Regalia deck that resulted in the closest votes - but despite Shin Lim's recent AGT win and publicity, your DMC ELITES V4s still edged out the White Regalia deck by only a handful of votes from the community. Very well-earned recognition and a deck that deserves a place in every magicians routine - congrats!Sovereign wrote:Hi guys, sorry I'm a bit late to the party on this, we're really excited to have won Best for Magic with our DMC ELITES v.4 deck - we've worked really hard on the project for a few years now and I'm so hyped that we won this. Re: *OFFICIAL* 2018 'Deck of the Year' Awards
What do you guys think about me doing a different method of packaging my donation prize every year?
Like, maybe next year I wrap a Lotrek deck in 10 feet of bubble wrap and play soccer with the other 11?
Year after that, tape all the decks together, but it looks like I did it during an earthquake?
Next year, I throw in a bunch of box-cutter razor blades for a good single-blade shave?
Then, I could setup some boxes for hockey target practice, and use the decks as pucks? 2 in each corner and 4 in the ole 5-hole?
Let me know what you think.

Sounds interesting. Several years ago I got a package from a friend in Russia and it looked like it had been dragged under the boat all the way across the Atlantic. Luckily that kind of treatment is a rare experience. Unfortunately my uncut tuck covers for Luna Moon and Luna Helios looked like an Elephant trampled them. (They did send me a Luna Moon replacement )

If YOU select my prize next year, I will blend 1 of the 12 decks for you, and use all of the pieces as "packaging materials". Fair enough?Merlebird wrote:How good is your blender?TwoPiece wrote:What do you guys think about me doing a different method of packaging my donation prize every year?

Re: *OFFICIAL* 2018 'Deck of the Year' Awards
Hi, I'm the 14# and I want to update my current status.
I first contacted JuFiN and I decided not to take since the international shipping cost is too high (60$). Then I contacted jodyeklund twice but got no reply. So now i messaged 4HOGS Games and currently waiting for his reply.
So, if the next person (lightus) would like to take JuFiN or jodyeklund prizes, feel free to do so.
I apologize to make all of you wait. I will update as soon as I got any reply.

NBD. Thanks for communicating the situation. Knowing why we're waiting is fine, for most of us, I think.phantom1412 wrote:Hi, I'm the 14# and I want to update my current status.

Re: *OFFICIAL* 2018 'Deck of the Year' Awards
Huge THANK YOU to Bradius for getting my prize out so quickly. They have arrived to a good home and I can't wait to open each deck to see what's in store. The carat case in really nice and I am so pleased with these!
And for those of you who want to see the ANTI-2pc when it comes to packing, I present to you: eight boxes of cards, within a carat case, within a box nestled in bubble wrap, within a box cradled by newspaper, within a USPS shipping box. It's the Inception of playing card shipping. Card-ception. Pip-ception. Deck-ception? Anyway, Bradius did a fantastic job making sure the cards got home safely.

Glad that they got there fast and in good order. It turned out cheapest to ship in a flat rate Priority box, so I ended up placing my double boxed shipping box in yet another box and scrambled to my car to find some newspapers to wad up and keep it from rattling around in the USPS Priority box. Some of us care about our playing cards.

Hi, before I pick my prize, I just want to thank PipChick and everyone volunteering their time and collection as prizes. The contest gave me a chance to take another look at the nominated decks that were previously out of my radar. After I submitted my entry for the contest, my purse also turned lighter as I hunted down those beautiful decks that slipped my grasp previously.
I am taking up guru's offer of the artist proof/prototype decks!
Mbbuckland is next, I will send a pm!
