I like their story and I’m curious about the water colouring.

I’m in. I hope they reach the stretch goal to do two colours.

I like these a lot. However, I think there is a bit too much border on the card backs. I don't care much for the pink hues on the pips or on the Joker's but the whole deck is very cohesive and stunning, really. Thanks for sharing this and I will have to watch this one carefully.

I did go in for an early bird. 11 bucks shipped doesn't seem too bad. I think they are interesting enough for that much. I wish the backs were a different color than brown and I feel the tuck design could use some love.

Back design doesn't match the faces in style.

The backs really are not great, and you are right about them not matching. It would be nice if they revamped the backs. However, the courts are really nice. I even like the pips for this type of deck. I nearly overlooked it being another pirate theme. However, with domestic shipping included, it isn't bad.

Just bumping this thread as the campaign is coming to a close (4 days left). I agree with some of the comments above about how the tuck and backs could be improved, but I’d still love to see it funded for the beautiful art.

It’s a shame these guys aren’t funded but I can see where they’ve gone wrong. A little tweaking and it could be a successful project. Maybe I’ll send them a message to head on over here for some feedback.

They seem like nice guys and the artwork is great, it just doesn’t match the back and there are a few other things going against it.

I agree. Here's my list of pros and cons:
I like the courts but I don't like one-way courts so I really wish they were two-way.
I like the back design but I don't like the "Buccaneers" scroll- it's unnecessary. I also don't like the monotone colors- the courts are so colorful and the backs just don't seem to belong. They should be way more colorful or at least not just brown.
The colorful smears on the courts and aces should be spread throughout all cards and should ideally be uniform (so fans are even).
I don't like the tuck. Blackbeard is fine but it needs more. I don't know what but it needs more.
Even with all my gripes I would still consider backing if the deck were in the $10ish range. $15 is a little steep for this USPCC deck, shipped but not too crazy. I would consider backing if all/most of the changes I described were made.
So overall not bad but just needs a bit of tweaking, like Jocu said.

I agree that it's in my borderline category. I flagged it with a reminder and just got my 48h notice.

There are flaws or at least things I'd change, but at the end of the day the art is solid.

Decided to back it and give what may be a promising new designer a start.
