Yes...it is back to Playing Cards now. It was a small experiment under Art -> Illustration to get it some visibility over there.

I'd say the long funding time is what's made this seem slower. They recommend 30 days for that reason - it makes people feel like time's running out!TwoPiece wrote:70% with some weeks to go. Let's get this funded!
I'd expect to see a lot more movement in the next few days. Great project and good luck - lovely seeing something different being done.

All the Heritage edition decks (total print run 500) that will be pledged during this kickstarter campaign will be HAND NUMBERED. All numbered decks will be offered to the backers which mean someone among you will receive #1/500 as well.

Re: A Motley Pack - Transformation Playing Cards -- KS Jan
I did try to check with SFC to see if specific numbered decks can be sent to the backers but given the volune of packages they ship daily and their incentive to maximize the shipped packages per day, it is unlikely or not possible at this stage.TwoPiece wrote:If I don't get #2 then we can't be friends anymore, Sunish.guru wrote:All the Heritage edition decks (total print run 500) that will be pledged during this kickstarter campaign will be HAND NUMBERED. Re: A Motley Pack - Transformation Playing Cards -- KS Jan
If someone is on the fence for buying one (or two) uncut sheets I can say that having one (or two ) uncut sheets on the wall, is a great way of showing your card collection to any visits, without being "boring" showing your decks of cards.
I have several uncut sheets but I don't have one with a transformation deck yet.
I'm in for both decks, uncuts and book on this project.
I believe it will fund, there is still a long time and, in the final days, some people will get the 2 days reminder.
If someone is undecided, trust me, an uncut sheet is a great way to show your cards. I think every collector should have one framed and hanged on a wall in a clearly visible spot for anyone who enters his/hers house.
Do you (fellow UC members) have any uncut sheets?

Changed!
Don't forget to add/check the money for the add-ons again after changing the pledge.
At least in my case, the money I had added for the uncuts and book disappeared from the total (I think it makes sense because I was changing my pledge and it assumed i wanted to reduce the value).

I think you are probably right here. The thing that bothers me with uncut sheets is that they generally cost more than the deck of cards.Smocito wrote:If someone is on the fence for buying one (or two) uncut sheets I can say that having one (or two ) uncut sheets on the wall, is a great way of showing your card collection to any visits, without being "boring" showing your decks of cards.

They don't go through the cutting process. They don't get a tuck. So why would they cost more? You're getting a half finsished, half complete deck of cards. I've never understood why they cost 2x plus the cost of the deck.
Any reasonable explanations on this? Not that they are limited. I don't buy artificially limited quantities as valid reasons for inflating prices.

Printers charge extra for uncut sheets and they have minimum quantity requirements for them.Smocito wrote:Yes, I don't know why either.STLBluesNut wrote:

If you look around, you will find here they are priced far better than other decks on Kickstarter.
Mu experience in last 2 instances tell me that the printers can forget to secure uncut sheets during production. Has happened with my twice. This time around, I have a backup plan as well, in case the worst happens. I will be getting uncuts from MPC given I've already got prototypes from them. The cost for uncut sheets is quite high for low quantities like 10-15 but even then, I am willing to have this as a backup option.
These 2 decks look great on uncuts too, and it will be a shame if there are no uncuts.

USPCC: double price for uncuts.
Cartamundi: less than a finished deck, but 30 sheets MOQ.
Shipping is 3-4 times more expensive vs. one deck.

Re: A Motley Pack - Transformation Playing Cards -- KS Jan
After seeing that conversation on Joker & the Thief around letterpress box, I also had a look around.
Luckily, I found a vendor with great experience in letter press printing & I have taken the quote on 500 Heritage edition tucks. The work they do is awesome and I don't think I'd like to miss this opportunity of getting the letterpress tuckbox for Heritage edition deck. Question is that should I announce it as a stretch goal now but whether that stretch goal is achieved or not, I think I am going to do this box in letterpress printing this campaign is successful.
If I announce it as a stretch goal, then there will be something for backers to look forward to....but then it on the other hand, it doesn't make sense to me as it will happen for sure.

I can accept that the printers charge more so you have to pass it on. The question is, why do they charge more? I've seen videos of cards being made. Even from the web press at USPCC the get printed on a big roll but eventually get hand stacked and fed to get cut. You just grab 50 sheets and set them to the side, bam! Why do they charge more? I guess it is really irrelevant but I just don't understand.
