Sketchbooks for Playing Cards
After the Thanksgiving holiday, Lance Miller and myself will be launching a project on Kickstarter to fund the production of sketchbooks. These sketchbooks are designed specifically for the purpose of making playing cards. We would greatly appreciate your support on this project.

Re: Sketchbooks for Playing Cards
I've certainly seen people asking about sketchbooks like this, I had to look up when thanksgiving is, are you sure just before x-mas is a good time? I can't back anything until Feb next year regardless but I can say I would be very interested in this whether on KS or otherwise as would many others I'm sure.

You probably have a good point. It's probably not the best time to launch a project. We're not expecting for it to be a huge success. It's something we developed for us and thought we would share it with fellow artists and playing card enthusiasts. My ex-wife and I did a smaller version of it several years back.Adonael wrote:I've certainly seen people asking about sketchbooks like this, I had to look up when thanksgiving is, are you sure just before x-mas is a good time? I think we'll contact Gambler's Warehouse or Murphy's Magic to see if they have any interest in carrying these. It's just a nice tool to have.

@Adonael - Good point for sure. What do you think about mid-Jan to launch a project on KS?
Anyone?

Re: Sketchbooks for Playing Cards
Personally, I dunno if there's ever really a "best" time to launch a project on KS and if doing so at one point of the year versus another really makes much of an impact - I mean, of course, the holidays are financially straining on everyone but if a consumer really wants in, I believe they're gunna pledge regardless.guru wrote:What do you think about mid-Jan to launch a project on KS?

I think instead, it has much more to do with what other projects are also currently active and/or decks recently released during that time and if yours is different and/or good enough to compete. With the transformation deck you've been working on, and the Royal Mischief deck that has been 2+ years in the works, you & Patrick both have the advantage of being the only ones that we currently know of to be offering decks of this kind to be released in the near future and I think that has a lot of appeal for people that perhaps don't own any or only a few transformation decks as it provides something new and different from what's already so common in the average collection among enthusiasts.
Regardless, I wish the you best of luck no matter when you launch, but mid-Jan. seems perfectly fine to me
