Received mine (Seattle, WA, USA), and I gotta say... it's sweet. A nice little addition to the ol' collection.

Re: Oath Mystery deck #2: DAMASK
I got mine in the mail this weekend! Due to a family medical emergency, I was in the hospital all weekend. These were definitely a nice little "hey, life is still pretty cool" to get in the mail.
Once again, thank you, Lotrek!

Re: Oath Mystery deck #2: DAMASK
Mine came in at lunch time. I can see why Lotrek was so tempted by the Blue Foil that he had to try it out on the Damask. It's beautiful. I'm have a hard time now deciding which one I like better. The red or the blue. Have to go back and break open my red to compare.
2Piece, you really don't know what you're missing. (granted your bank account is definitely happy) Gotta get your hands on one to see just what is the hype.

Re: Oath Mystery deck #2: DAMASK
Nah. I'm not a fan of the courts on the Damask decks. It'll be very difficult for Lotrek to top both his Venexiana Gold and Golden Oath decks. Those are his masterpieces IMO. The back design also doesn't impress me. While foils can certainly take a design up a notch, the patterns and overall themes themselves are much more important. Neither the back nor the faces of Damask interest me.Eric Lee wrote: 2Piece, you really don't know what you're missing. As much as I love the backs for his other decks like Icons Signature, Grotesk, Liturgy, and Sanctus, I think the faces have failed to match that beauty. Arabesque is probably his 3rd best piece of work to-date.
I don't feel left out.

Re: Oath Mystery deck #2: DAMASK
Ah well, I tried
Seriously, though, what about Arabesque? What's your take on that vs Damask?
Oh BTW, Lotrek, also really loving the Greek stamps. So interesting. No one in the Greek Post Office approached you yet to design a stamp for them yet? What a shame, would be nice to imagine a Lotrek designed stamp

Re: Oath Mystery deck #2: DAMASK (wap)
Not sure if any others, but I just received my pair and added them on Portfolio52. If it was me, I guess you saw them there. I haven’t the guts to open one though. In the end after a few trades and such, I ended up with three Red and two Blue Damask decks. I certainly wasn’t expecting a blue version. I am glad Lotrek set it up where all original backers could get a Blue Damask if they wanted one.
It sounds like the Arabesque should be shipping soon. Hopefully others will soon follow.

Re: Oath Mystery deck #2: DAMASK
I look forward to your review TheGentlemanWake.
I actually have opened one of my Damask decks. On one of my tables in my office, I have a number of playing cards set out. I get a number of people to come into my office and look over my display. What is interesting to me is that almost every one of those that pick up a card or deck, pick up one of the Damask cards to look at it.
I have come to the conclusion that the vast majority of humans have a ton of niffler instinct buried in us. We are just drawn in a strange and irresistible way to shiny things.

Great review Omar!
Small(er) eyes and a huge(er) smile (than usual). Too much excitement and not enough sleep lately?
Hope you don't exhaust yourself... As well as Lorenzo who doesn't seem to know the meaning of "taking a break"
Take care and best wishes for the next... 20 days... Oh my...

Re: Oath Mystery deck #2: DAMASK
Bwoi, oh bwoi... I have to delete my account here.
This forum just drives me deeper and deeper into the addiction.
Till this day, I was able to ignore Lotrek's decks. "Too artsy - too expensive - not that good for gameplay - not the style you prefer" - these and other pityful excuses I had to repeat to myself, to not fall for them. But since I'm exposed to them more and more, I start to get this feeling of tiny ants crawling under my skin!!!
Is this normal? Do I need professional help? Or just one, or maybe two, of these beautifully crafted decks?

Don't spend your money on doctors. That will take away funds to feed the monster. Yeah, that is what I tell myself.

Before you go to Ebay to feed the addiction and be ripped off, search the Personal Marketplace 1st. There are great deals to be had over there with much lower prices. Start with Dentyne.
