Re: Oath Mystery deck #2: DAMASK
Hmmm... I realized that there's never been a review posted for actual game play for most of Lotrek's card. 2Piece, Bikefanatic, with all the foil and thick card stock (Icons, Liturgy, Sanctus, GO, Ambassadors, Arab, Damask) , which one would you say plays and handles the best, which one's the worst for Game night?
Would love to hear your thoughts on this

Venexiana Gold, Icons, Sanctus, and Grotesk (foiled editions) are all bad-to-awful for game play.Eric Lee wrote:Hmmm... Liturgy Treasure and Golden Oath are actually good.
I would say that Liturgy Treasure handles the best of these 6 decks, but Golden Oath is the best for playing games with, because of its sharp contrasts between stock and foils.
I cannot speak for the latter 3 as I don't own them.

Re: Oath Mystery deck #2: DAMASK
Generally, starting from SANCTUS the handling improves. Ambassadors is a bit better, Arabesque is good, Damask is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING (okay, I'm exaggerrating. Just my last attempt to talk TwoPiece into buying a copy... )

Re: Oath Mystery deck #2: DAMASK
Icons are just really, really stiff and probably the worst at handling in my opinion. The Damask cards slip nicely, but they don't bend easily if you are trying to shuffle them. I think the best custom deck from you that handles the best overall is the Arabesque.

And we have not even seen the Arabesque players edition which should handle even better...

Re: Oath Mystery deck #2: DAMASK
Just question about the Blue Damask deck, should I have received some kind of confirmation if I sent payment?
I'm asking because I haven't heard anything.

Re: Oath Mystery deck #2: DAMASK
When playing a card game, all I need to do is shuffle and bridge the cards.
The 3 Ambassadors Collector's Edition decks and the Grotesk decks are the worst in handling overall. Any deck that's too thick could be hard to handle. The bronze Grotesk deck shuffles pretty well though.
Majority of decks are easy to shuffle such as Icons, Venexiana Gold and Arabesque. Damask and Golden Oath are a little stiff to shuffle. A few decks like Liturgy and Damask I can dribble the cards. Overall besides Ambassadors and Grotesk, the all other decks are great for games.

Re: Oath Mystery deck #2: DAMASK
The Damask handling is really, really good. For what's on these cards, the fact that it comes from an independent designer, and how good they look I was shocked by how well they handle.

Vasta, your statement reminded me of the infamous 1993 Sandlot movie qoute:
Timmy: Smalls, you mean to tell me you went home, swiped a ball that was signed by BABE RUTH, brought it out here and actually played with it?
Tommy: And actually played with it?

Re: Oath Mystery deck #2: DAMASK
I do have one Damask open on my desk. It is too pretty to lock up. At least I don’t have to break a seal . That helps. Here is a photo of the court cards.

I opened it to look at them for any error cards. Wow they are stunning and closed back up. No seal is perfect for peeking.vasta41 wrote: I can't believe people open these decks.

Re: Oath Mystery deck #2: DAMASK
Oh believe me, picture do not do justice to Damask. It is amazing. It must be held and put under a light to see all the intricate foilwork Lotrek put on them. I opened my decks as well but looking at Arabesque and Damask, it felt almost sacrilage to shuffle these works of art!TwoPiece wrote:I bought 0. Suckas.
Still, I tried dribbling (very gently) Damask after reading the initial comments. It is very good for the intricate foilwork and card thickness. This is great work, Lotrek. Can't wait to see what new frontier you'll break next year... AFTER you've released the Bosch deck of course....

I don't think there are enough pictures of the blue deck, I took a couple after receiving mine today, as much as I liked the red one, this one blows it away! My little pile of treasure:
