Rounders Playing Cards by Daniel Madison

Unread post by Evan »

In the latest episode of Revelations from Ellusionist, Daniel Madison is using a black version of the Players deck. They look pretty cool IMO, so I hope they will be released soon!

If that's an Ellusionist deck, I'm not sure it's a Players. I don't think they would release a deck with the same name as a T11 it wouldn't make sense. Surely it's a new DM/E deck.

Besides it doesn't look like a black version of a Players deck either.

Isn't that the same logo as Players in those pics?

Pretty much what I was getting at. It certainly won't be a Players deck.

I was really regretting my Black Club membership, but this was definitely a pleasant surprise. The hand signed note from Madison was a nice touch as well. Hopefully E continues to add value to their Black Club membership and this is a good step in the right direction.

I like that look. I was just practicing the rising card with my Brown Wynns yesterday and these kind of remind me of them. I am still glad I did not get sucked into the Black Club thingy.

Is it just me or are the court cards based on his friends he does magic with in the UK? See http://the52.magicisdead.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It also looks like DM is the K of diamonds.

I agree, they look like stylish Wynn's. I'd love to own em, too bad I can't really afford the black club.

I might be wrong here, but I thought the free deck previews were only for Black Club members, but that these would eventually be sold to the general public on E.

I like the simplicity of the deck and the comparisons to Wynns are appropriate, but Im a bit disappointed with the box, way too plain.

On the page, there's a note from Daniel Madison:
I tested over 50 different stocks and finishes to find and create my perfect deck of playing cards.
Really? Are there even that many? I'm all for hyping up a deck but that statement just seems a little much to me.

I agree. Unless he went outside USPCC (and even then it's a reach), it sounds like a gross exaggeration.

Its all marketing...as i saw the trailer i was like : really? is that the rockstar style and image you want to sell with those cards?
The target audience of E doesnt know that there are no 50 stocks - but the number sounds mighty bad ass better then : I tried 5 diferrent stocks...

LOLicakes. I guess what he actually meant was he tested the 3 or so from USPCC and then went to Office Max and played in the paper and stationary section for a while before determining that going with the normal USPCC selections would make the most sense.

I appreciate marketing to true strengths, but that one is silly.

i didn't know there were so many stocks to test...

$6,99 now. That's a reasonable price.... I wonder the feeling of those bidding for $40 unfinished auctions...

By the way... Are these very limited? I am not sure when I am going to be able to buy them...

I went to the product page, saw the "tested over 50 different stocks and finishes," and then I X'd out.
