Got my reminder set so I can get in on the 1 + 1 again.

Gotta practice for the Neptune campaign.

I can not wait to own this entire series. What a tremendous run of nice decks.

Reading the campaign preview page, I guess the feathered gills are supposed to suggest wings, for Uranus's association with the air and sky. But then why not give them actual wings? Too difficult to work them into the composition? I'd be interested to see the artist's brainstorming/thumbnail sketches for this deck to see what ideas didn't make it off the drawing board.

Hey guys, I just want to say thank you for your support and kind words throughout this entire series. I'm now just a few cards away from finishing my job on this amazing project. Man, it's been an incredible journey and I can't believe it will soon be finished. From the moment David explained his vision to me, I know this is going to be something special, but it will also take a lot of time and effort. Reaction from people who knows and loves cards ( like you guys ), meant a lot to me and I tried to bring you something interesting with each new deck.
Anyway, you still haven't seen all of it. Last campaign will bring few surprises, so, buckle up, we still have few planets to visit ;)

Hey! You're actually right. It's not that wings would be difficult to draw, but they wouldn't match the aesthetic of the rest of the courts. So, instead they have those feather-like things around eyes, to kind of resemble wings. Also, my vision was that you can see night sky in those deep big dark eyes. And being that they are living in the coldest planet, they are covered in layers of clothes all to the chin, and for the same reason they don't wear some fancy crowns, but rather something to keep them warm.

Please, keep in mind how fast this deck were produced, and how intensely I had to work to bring everything to life on time.

Your answers are as speedy as your artwork  But to have to accommodate wings, I could see how it might make the figures feel cramped in comparison to the rest of the series thus far. Releasing each deck one at a time at a breakneck pace, rather than all of them together once the artwork for the whole series is complete, is probably sensible from a business perspective but must make maintaining aesthetic consistency from deck to deck incredibly difficult. Do you keep the finished images for earlier decks close by your workspace as a kind of stylistic reference?

The way I tried to keep consistency throughout the whole series is, when I finish new king, I compare it to the rest of the kings and try to see if there's something odd. Small details, thickness of the lines or the overall esthetic. Few time I had to go back and fix a thing or two :) And I always tried to somehow keep the retro/vintage vibe to it.
I'm just glad people like what I've created... so far, I haven't really heard any bad critic...that's great.

Slept through the alarm I had set but still managed to snag my traditional 1+1. Really excited to see what's coming for Neptune and how the series is going to round out.

BTW, and I'm sorry for corrupting the thread just slightly: has anyone heard anything about when Mars is shipping?

@portcullis: Last I heard from GW, Mars should be shipping this week.

Thanks for the continued excitement, all! Srdjan has really done a fantastic job throughout this entire project and has been a pleasure to work with! Brace yourselves for the awesomeness that will be the final Neptune campaign, including lots of unseen artwork :)

Pipchick and I agree: when Neptune comes out, there had better be a Pluto deck as a kicker...

...and the Pluto deck should be a mini-deck.

Just sayin'.

If you want to get behind Uranus, it is closing in 3 days. Last chance before you see it in the rear view mirror.

Next stop Neptune (probably Pluto), a case for all 8 decks and the end of an amazing series. :ugdance:

I am all about doing a mini deck as an add on with the Neptune KS...man that would be so cool!
I haven't slept for ten days, because that would be too long.

While I agree that the concept of a mini deck for Pluto is interesting, I personally would still prefer the Pluto deck to be the normal size so it is consistent with all the normal sized decks haha..

Or better yet, maybe they can release both a regular and mini decks?? :D :D

Hmmm... wonder how it'll work for those of us who went in for the whole set at the start or close to the start to add on Pluto. Hope David remembers to add a special Pluto only tier for these backers.

*Or*...

Reward the early backers who backed for the whole set with a *free* Pluto mini-deck, while everyone else can also get one, but they have to pony up for it special.

That way, the people who bought the whole set early on get a friendly little spiff as a reward that they weren't expecting, and those who backed for the entire set at the end still pay a tiny bit extra to get the extra, but at least they can still get it.

Based upon the pricing from folks like E and others, I'm guessing mini-decks are a lot less expensive to produce. Lorenzo did a mini-deck for a couple of his campaigns, if I recall. Perhaps he could shed some light on the subject. :)

Anyway, I'm going to be one of the backers who pledges for the entire set at the *end* of the campaign rather than the beginning, so it's not that I benefit personally by suggesting a spiff to those who backed earlier on....

I pledged for a SE deck on each separate campaign, so I'm hoping for a Pluto tier too. Pledging for an eight-deck set upfront was too rich for my blood.
