Can't access gamblerswarehouse.com's website...

Unread post by Vilhelmkruse »

Hi gamblers, collector and cardists of all sizes and shapes.

I am involved with the planning of an exciting new deck of cards on kickstarter. Mostly I will do all the admin stuff because that is where I excel. I am researching fulfilment partners and that is the reason for this post.

I am looking into http://www.gamblerswarehouse.com/ as a fulfilment partner and I have heard good things about them.

BUT for the last 14 days their website has been unaccessible showing an error code and FB there is radio silence too.

Anybody in here knows what is going on? Temporary glitch or?

Warm regards
Vihelm, Denmark.

I decided to try logging onto their site to see if what you were experiencing was a local or a global issue, and discovered that I, too, trying to access gamblerswarehouse.com from within the US, also received an "Internal Service Error" page.

Their sister site, playingcards.net, appears to be working just fine.

I know that they're still in business; I mean, they are still shipping out product as of last week, at least. :)

Please feel free to share some information about the deck before launch - I'd love to see some pictures or something :)

We wanna see the deck he is involved in! although the response should probable be posted in another forum as a new thread.

Also has anyone tried reaching them through facebook while their site is down?

https://www.facebook.com/GamblersWarehouse/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Or even http://www.playingcards.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which I believe is owned/run by Gamblers

I received a response to my ticket saying that the site should be back up "later today," and I look now, and see that the site is, indeed, back up. So, Vilhelmkruse, thanks for mentioning this issue. Your mentioning it led to them being able to get the site back up, in a roundabout sort of way.

:)

Looking forward to seeing more about your project!

It is working now. Note that they have bricks of (new) Tally-Ho! decks for $23.

Hi there, thanks. Yes the site is back up. So good to see - we are planning to do our fulfillment through his warehouse and I found the whole disappearing act a bit concerning.

And yes Räpylätassu you are absolutely right - we are very close to launching and we would love to show our stuff to you prior to launch. However, do to a very radical design we are very touchy-feely about showcasing it prior to launch. Surely a catch 22. You will understand when you see it - it is wild! And weirdly wonderful.

Maybe there would be a way to reveal it here on the forum 24 hours before launch to give you guys a heads-up. Would that make worth considering?

I think what UC users desire most from creators previewing upcoming projects and participating in discussions here is a sense that feedback is being received and incorporated. Twenty-four hours isn't really enough time to make any changes if some proposed feature of your deck isn't received as well as you thought it might be. Frankly, with a community of this size 24 hours isn't really even enough lead time to build hype, which would be the only other reason to preview the project.

I'd say a week would be a better timeframe than a day.
