"In collaboration with the award-winning design agency Stranger & Stranger we bring you the ULTIMATE DECK of playing cards.
A transformation deck incorporates 52 different illustrations, where each card tells a story. Over thirty artists were commissioned to design original work exclusively for this deck. No expense was spared. The outcome is phenomenal.
Since their debut last Christmas they have been featured on virtually every major design blog. The hype is ridiculous!

If they're over $10, then I'm going to pass. If not, I will gladly pick some up!

I hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling these will be highly limited releases which probably means they'll be very expensive.

Re: D&D - Stranger & Stranger The Ultimate Deck
Depending what these cost, I might pick up 1-2. Not sure if they will only come in that fancy box set or not. They've always been shown that way so maybe you'll only be able to get the two deck collector set.
Still, I'd like to see in person what they consider the "ultimate no expense spared" deck.

Re: D&D - Stranger & Stranger The Ultimate Deck
The box set will obviously be released later. After we spent $25 for 1 deck it will come out forcing those completionists to get more decks than they originally intended

Re: D&D - Stranger & Stranger The Ultimate Deck
Heh, most expensive ever produced you say? I wouldn't be so sure, Misters Dan and Dave...THE ULTIMATE DECK is a one-of-a-kind, luxury deck of playing cards showcasing stunning works of art on every card. It is the most expensive deck ever produced.

Re: D&D - Stranger & Stranger The Ultimate Deck
I feel dirty. I bought a deck. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid DandD and Blue Crown to mention a couple are getting crazy with this shit. Beleive it or not someone on this forum sold me a Black Artifice for .47 cents. Any way, I am going to go to a Twelve Step program to see if I can gain control of my actions. So they will sell a thousand of these, 500 of the box sets and find 3,000 that they forgot and found lost in the basement, they will be both aged and rare so will command an additional $25.

Re: D&D - Stranger & Stranger The Ultimate Deck
But where are the boxed sets?
I have been known to spend way to much on a deck of cards. But I won't do it on a bait and switch advertising campaign.

Re: D&D - Stranger & Stranger The Ultimate Deck
Hey Walrus, don't feel too bad. Do you remember what they were charging for the manually assembled rainbow decks a few years ago? You would pay $20 - $25 for one of those. When I was looking at this deck spread face-up, it sort of looked like a reverse rainbow deck - all the backs now the same but the faces are the rainbow.
It is purty, but I don't think I have a use for it so I'll pass for now. I know there will something else more to my liking soon and I'll forget about this "painted lady" who wanted to take my money.

Re: D&D - Stranger & Stranger The Ultimate Deck
I'm so on the fence on this one. I like the backs and box, but I'm not so fond of the wide variety of art. I know that sounds weird.
As for "the most expensive deck made", I can look at my very substantial (and still growing) order history with Encarded ( worth every penny!) and easily prove that statement false! I doubt that D&D is giving them to us for a slim margin, out of the goodness of their hearts!
