Re: Pizza Playing Cards
$15K for USPCC is more than reasonable goal. It's 2 unique decks not just a back swap so that's 2 deck approvals, proofs. and printings. I don't know why this stalled because the art is great, each suit is the pizza country of the Ace, and the Aces give you a pizza name and toppings. A pair of decks for $26 US is a steal compared to other crap on KS today. I'm sad to see this stall because it's that good in my opinion.CupcakeBaron wrote:Obviously a great deck, I just wish the funding goal was a bit lower.Ace wrote:Thinking the same thing...CupcakeBaron wrote:Starting to get a little worried that this deck won't fund...

Re: Pizza Playing Cards
I agree; why this KS has lost momentum is really puzzling - regardless of the amazing artwork, the campaign itself is even well presented. My only guess other than "buyers' fatigue" is that perhaps the artwork is "too" stylized/cartoon-ish and doesn't meet the particular taste preferences of the masses; but for such a fun theme like pizza, I think it's honestly the most suited design style for this deck. Also, its awesome having two completely different, yet complementary decks and for that, I think the price is very well justified.RichK wrote:$15K for USPCC is more than reasonable goal. It's a real shame that this campaign isn't getting the attention it deserves with all things considered.

Re: Pizza Playing Cards
Pipchick, your reasoning is exactly why I fell off the fence for backing. I've backed so many great decks lately that I had to beg off somewhere, and the art is just a little too cartoony for my tastes. And for some reason the pips really turn me off. Still hope it funds because I think it is a worthy set of decks compared to so many other sub-par offerings.PipChick wrote:

I JUST backed these and 15 mins later got the email that they cancelled the kickstarter. Soooo disappointing. I was REALLY looking forward to these.

Re: Pizza Playing Cards
dear friends, thank you for your support, but the numbers don't lie, the project was doomed. Anyway, we will relaunch, don't worry! I'm thinking of 1 deck only and a more traditional tuck case and back, with other things added as stretch goals. All of your comments are welcome, thank you for your kind words, I know that not every deck is for everyone (I don't like horror themed decks, for example) but I tought that this one could have a wider appeal.

Re: Pizza Playing Cards
Noooooo, say it ain't so! It's a damn shame that you couldn't fund. If I can add my two cents I'd say to keep the back design since it's just amazing as is, launch one deck at a time(but definite'y launch both as they both deserve to see the light of day), and possibly change the tuck if you think that would help(though I personally like it as is). Also maybe you can add on more small rewards to get people going like pins and such.Conturbia wrote:dear friends, thank you for your support, but the numbers don't lie, the project was doomed. Agreed, this looked like a fun one. Different from others out there. Perhaps they can leave out the special/display boxes and just work on the deck.vasta41 wrote:This had BETTER make a comeback!

Re: Pizza Playing Cards
We will relaunch.. we just have a looong pipeline of projects and I don't want to get too confused. Now the designer is on his honeymoon, so I guess that - even if we don't want to change many things - we need to wait for the relaunch of pizza.

Thank you PipChick
we did some variations, and I'm trying to make sure this time is funded, so we will start with one deck and we will upgrade to two decks if the backers follow us.

The faces are the same. Now, since we want to start with a lower goal, there will be two decks with a color swap, the second deck will have different illustrations only if a specific stretch goal is reached.
