The Collector From TX

Unread post by The Collector »

Hello,

I am a beginner cardist and sleight of hand practitioner. I watch many tutorials from TheVirts and School of Cardistry.

I am also starting to collect cards and hope to expand my collection as much as I possibly can. I search for all sorts of cards through Kickstarter and Portfolio52.

Thank you.

Howdy fellow Texan! There are a few of us Lone Star collectors, cardists and such. Lots of other folks from near and far (and very, very far). Do watch your step (those from Texas know what that means). There are some puns.

nice to meat you - being from Texas, I assumed you weren't a social vegan (or vegetarian of any kind) lol

also, hands down, the absolute best idioms come out of Texas; I have a very very long list of favorites (although oddly enough, I've never actually been to Texas myself) Some include:

"As exciting as a mashed-potato sandwich."
"If that ain’t a fact, God’s a possum."... like what?! lmao
"fat and sassy" <--- I use this one the most
"He’s all hat and no cattle." <--- this one seems especially Texan and I love it
"He don’t know a widget from a whangdoodle." <--- is this a sexual euphemism? or does it just sound like it? Either way, I like to use it as such lol
"Busy as a funeral home fan in July."
"A she-bear in satin."<--- LOVE this one
"They’re hitched but not churched."
"I’ll whip you like a redheaded stepchild."
"She’d rather shake than rattle."
"If he was bacon, he wouldn’t even sizzle."
"Just fell off the turnip truck."
"It’s better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick."
"He’s yellow as mustard but without the bite."
"She’s two sandwiches short of a picnic."
"He looks like the cheese fell off his cracker."
"Hasn’t got a pot to pee in or a window to throw it out of."
"So hot the hens are laying hard-boiled eggs."
"Cold as hell with the furnace out."
"Nervous as a whore in church."
"As welcome as a porcupine at a nudist colony."
"Two hoots and a holler away."
"Things are going to hell in a handbasket."
"Sweeter than stolen honey."
"He’s like a blister—he doesn’t show up till the work’s all done."
"She can’t help being ugly, but she could stay home."
"If you break your leg, don’t come running to me." <--- simply puntastic!

I seriously can't wait to visit one day just so I can hear these expressions used with the authentic southern drawl in a proper Texan accent lol

You forgot "busy as a one-armed paper-hanger."
