Having even more fun after @ Lotrek @Thirdway Industries comments. Guys. Are you serious? Your decks are GREAT! But If I were you I would asked to remove my decks from the list when just 15 forum members out of 2600 voted.
It's my last post on this forum. Cya.

I know that some people wonder how Golden Oath is DotY when Gemini won so many individual categories, but I think it's the fact that Gemini is more a fully-custom masterpiece, while Golden Oath has more traditional designs with cutting-edge manufacturing details.Lotrek wrote:Thank you all who voted for GOLDEN OATH as the deck of the Year!
Gongrats to all winners, too.
They're both gorgeous and absolutely deserving of every category won. Gemini is more functional while Golden Oath is more fashionable. Lotrek and Lorenzo are 2 of the best.

Understand what you say Montenzi.
For me it is more of keeping one's word, upholding a promise. UC may not be that big community but is still special to me. One thing that came up again through your comments and what I see in playing card world is the hype factor, may be I'll learn it one day.
Anyways, getting back to the topic, your reward is on the way now @joeblow. Should be there in your hands soon.
And, as most of you have seen Bharata & Divine Art, here is a comparison of the size & thickness of handcrafted deck compared to Bicycle Riderback. Enjoy!!!

I can't wait to see the handcrafted deck from Sunish.
All the sponsors have been very generous and I hope it helps with their future projects. I'm sure that the number of viewers of this topic exceeds the number of voters.
A survey or vote directly on the forum could increase participation. We might not be able to track who voted but if we want to continue with prizes, a random draw might work.

Re: 2017 Decks of the Year - OFFICIAL - Winners Announced!
I received my prize decks from Sinjin7 on Saturday. First of all, the were packed in cut out-foam like a camera case. In addition to the brick he had donated, he threw in a "few" extra decks he had lying around. I never realized the "a few" could mean ten! He even included a couple numbered LE decks. Out of the entire 22 decks, only 3 were duplicates for me; and those were among the least expensive. All the decks were pretty much a level above what I normally can buy and the sheer number is going to make a sizable contribution to my collection. Regardless of what other issues there may be about the contest itself, it is this kind of generosity and camaraderie that keeps me in this hobby and on this forum. Thanks again to all involved.

Re: 2017 Decks of the Year - OFFICIAL - Winners Announced!
Considering the amount of great prizes that were/are available I am very surprised that there was such a small turnout of voters. I honestly didn't expect to win anything; I just wanted my voice to be heard on which decks I think were the best because collecting, discussing, and playing card games is about 20% of my life lol.
The only reason that I didn't vote the last couple of years was because my contribution to this community was very small (a lot of reading and not much posting), I was so busy, and I wasn't confident about how to vote. Next year I hope to add to the prize pool myself.

Wow I also missed the announcement! Congrats to the winners, the innovation and skill across the board has been inspiring, every year is another level. Great to see Lotrek and Lorenzo nailing it. Well deserved guys, amazing decks - as always Nice to see Shadows sliding in there, thank you guys.
Thinking on how to boost submissions, perhaps a devoted competition page with images and a form might help. Just a thought, time is always a battle for most of us. Looking forward to another amazing year, all the best guys.

Re: 2017 Decks of the Year - OFFICIAL - Winners Announced!
I didn't vote because I find it very hard to pick decks in certain categories. I don't play poker or do cardistry so I have no "feel" for those type of categories. Picking my winners takes a lot of time to research cards like Best Ace or Coin. This might be a weak excuse and if those who voted can give me advise if it's easier than I think I'll give it a shot next year. Thanks!
Move on, nothing to see here.

Re: 2017 Decks of the Year - OFFICIAL - Winners Announced!
I have no advice- voting for this contest is NOT easy AT ALL IMO. It took me countless hours to go through each category this year which I why I keep lobbying to change the damn voting categories to no avail. I also just take a stab at the dark in some categories (I'll never understand why we have to vote for a coin on a card website regardless if it's a popular KS add-on). Unfortunately this will probably be the last year I participate simply because it just takes too much time. I guess that's a good problem to have but the main issue I have is that there's no database that can easily display every deck and the features that are being voted on (back, courts, pips, etc.) on the same page without having to click around and open up 2349872348907 tabs. I love P52 and it's close but like I said, only seeing the tuck front and back only helps so much.RichK wrote:I didn't vote because I find it very hard to pick decks in certain categories. Thanks Sunish! Decks have arrived safe and sound. The handmade deck is truly unique. I can't even imagine the work that was done to make one set. The Divine Art and bharata are also great additions to my collection.

I also received my package, which I think arrived relatively quickly. Thank you once again Bradius for your generosity and for the fact that you also included in the brick a Black Jaqk. A very nice surprise.

There still is one winner, Stevecru, who hasn't claimed his price. I sent him a PM sometime ago, but he hasn't been online to see it.

Got my Star and Stripes set today. LOVE IT. It feels so high quality, everything just fits perfectly and feels heavy, especially the metal deck cases.
Going to keep these sealed tight, v2 is going to be for opening.
