These look interesting. I have always likes the the Hubble and am fascinated by the Apollo missions. This looks like a deck you might get at a shop in Florida or Houston but I am still interested. Printed by USPCC. (Sure it is not a third party.)

I agree it is a gift shop deck and not worth the $10. Good luck to them.

Too expensive for novelty cards

Don't Worry , Be Happy Cheers!

Not a great selection of stock art, and while I don't mind this style of cards if they've got good art, but this is just bland.

Yeah, I almost actually pledged for these only due to my fascination with space things but too many cons which outweigh the pros.

Re: Out Of This World Space Age Playing Cards now live on KS
These aren't that bad. They are certainly not to my interest, but they do speak to something of a trend I think we've all been noticing over the last few weeks on KS, in that some of the decks seem to be knocked together relatively quickly. This deck is a nice collection of images, but it doesn't really feel like it is offering anything particularly new. It's certainly more pleasing to the eye than other recent phone-ins, like the Ancients, Vixa, Freakies, Forbidden Kingdoms, and Tavern cards, but where there have always been some rather crappy decks pop up now and then, the last few weeks have heralded an influx of some seriously dodgy stuff! I dunno, I mean, who am I to say what is good or bad, maybe these cards are appealing to a niche I am just not a part of..? Which is fine!
It just feels like maybe some people have seen the recent success of certain decks, and have cobbled together a bit of an idea, shoved it on and hoped for the best. Whether this results in unformed ideas, horribly hideous graphics, terrible understanding of audience, or vomit-inducing design, it's taking this new found (KS) platform for our medium as a mockery. I am, obviously, a little frustrated with this. However, I understand that good, bad, funded, unfunded, it's all OK, as that's the glorious freedom of Kickstarter. I wouldn't have it any other way.
/rant I guess?
Sorry Space cards, I probably shouldn't have done this here; you really are the best of the bunch.

Frequenter, this is the best of the bunch, really ??? This is something I could probably throw together with some stock images within an hour. The other projects at least had some effort put in, stuff like the ancients and forbidden kingdom have a proper design, unlike this.
My Collection = Playing Cards + Photography

I'm not disputing we're seeing a bunch of low-effort decks this month, but how in the world can you say this is the best of the lot when it's a set of 10 stock images, and every other one you listed at least has some sort of original art?

OK, yes, this is the laziest, without a doubt. Despite the lack of effort involved in these cards, I still think that they are more aesthetically pleasing than the others that I mentioned. I'd rather look at this all day than any of the other eye-gouging experiences that the pseudo-realistic 3D-esque photoshop decks are providing. The point of the post was not really about which was the best of a bad bunch, but more about the overall increase in the bad bunch sector... This was the discussion I meant to cultivate, I'm sorry if I offended you guys by ordering my preferences. Just a personal opinion

yep, he changed the rewards, but i don't think this will spark the interest he desires. look at the first early bird special at $9 limited to 150. any extra decks are at $10 per deck. he needs to bite the bullet and make them all $9 per deck extra. make it simple and i might add get some young babe with big boobs to model the T-shirt instead of grandma. sex sells; i'm sorry to say that, but it does.

I dont think the price matters, it is a dime store novelty deck with no effort.

Walrus, that just made my night! Completely caught me off guard.walrus wrote:Holy Cow whoever thought of putting that picture on anything especially an Avatar

As for the Space Cards, I have no idea why they think it would succeed after it completely flopped the first time!
thanks, Randy
