hello...to collect or not to collect

Hi. I am a card magician and want to collect but I dont like a lot of the custom decks that have a dark theme. Like karnival and a lot of the decks from ellusionist. I want to collect decks that are not dark themed. I don't know where to start. I also have a philosophy being a card magician that cards are tools, just like a hammer is to a carpenter. So I do not see a sesne in collecting. Do carpenters collect hammers?

So i am divided...to collect or not to collect. I buy decks that will be my tools for tricks.

Hey, I also am into magic. At one time I actually disliked all the custom cards and would not touch anything but Bikes. That changed and I now have 100's of decks. I have a deep appreciation for the little pieces of cardboard I now seek. You mentioned a few of the darker decks but there are plenty of decks out there that are not dark. As a matter of a fact there are much more not dark than dark. As far as magic and the custom cards there are quite a few that people seem to enjoy and some of the cards actually add something to your magic. E's Artifice decks are great for the effects that involve routines, they really add a touch of class.

If you want to check out some possiblities there are a couple of nice ones on Kickstarter. Many of the creators communicate here on the forums. Also BMpokerworld.com has pretty much everything you might want. So start off slow, pick up a few you like and see where it goes.

P.S. there is a section in this forum to discuss magic. I hope you will join us. Although there are some good guys posting it is a little slow.
