Roope has asked me to show my decks and answer the above question.
The value of a deck is how much someone is willing to pay for it... that being said the Indiennes Deck i`ve seen listed as buy me now or on retail sites usually are in the £80-£150 ballpark.. but i`ve seen packs listed for much much higher. You could get lucky like me and find them on auction for much much less, i got each of my sets for around £40-£50 each.
Venise Simplon Orient Express Double Set, Indian.jpg
I know of three different designed decks produced for the Venise-Simplon Orient Express. The first one was printed by Grimaud in 1985, this one is basically a reprint of an earlier Grimaud deck from 1890 titled "Cartes Indiennes" but have indices added. the set comes in a 2-part slide in box and have gilded corners (A common practice with European manufacturers).
Venise Simplon Orient Express Double Set.jpg
The second set also printed by Grimaud was produced in 1986, this set comes in a velvet lined leatherette clamshell box with the V.S.O.E logo on the lid. the custom courts depict passengers in 1920/30`s style clothing.
Scans of all the court cards from both the above sets can be seen on Page 2 of the france section in "Woldwide"
Venice Simplon Orient Express Double Set In Clamshell Box (0380).jpg
the third set produced in 1990 has no makers information anywhere on the pack, and various sources have it listed by either Waddingtons or Grimaud. I have nothing concrete to suggest either one. Like the above set this one came in a clamshell box with the V.S.O.E logo on the lid
1574.jpg
Another copy of the above set but with different back design, This set came in a clear plastic box. Scans of the courts on this set can be seen in the Englsnd section of "worldwide" on Page 3.

Jock1971 - thanks for your post and photos. I did find a nice link with more information on these decks:

http://www.wopc.co.uk/france/grimaud/ve ... nt-express

There is a link from this deck to the other version.

I also was checking around on decks for sale and they are quite a bit higher. I saw a single deck of the 1985 version on ebay for $150 and a double deck set of the 1985 version for $250 on the Ruby Lane website. That website has some nice decks for sale, but are rarely cheap.

Waddingtons Shakesperan Playing Cards starting bid 2,10 USD, shipping from Hong Kong. The deck is opened and in plastic container, but seems to be in very good condition and it is a quite a nice looking deck. Printed in the UK in the 90's. I would imagine that you can win this by paying that 2,10 dollars, shipping to Finland is only 8,50 USD. That's not that bad of a price for a nice looking deck.

Toscana by Cavallani & Co starting bid 13,90 USD, a bit less than 10 hours to go. This is a GORGEOUS Italian transformation deck, I would buy this one but the seller won't ship to Finland.

I am literally mad if someone doesn't snatch this one up, especially with that price.

ALSO

Giocosa by Cavallani & Co. Another gorgeous deck, this one from a different seller, starting bid at 45 USD with over 3 days to go however. Still a great looking deck, although for not so good of a price as the upper one.

Edit: 45 minutes left on that Toscana deck. Like I said, I am literally mad if someone doesn't buy it, that gorgeous of a deck and with that price? C'MOON! I paid about 3 times more for my Toscana deck and I still think that that was a fair price!

1900 Jeu des Cartes for 14,95 USD. This one is unopened, but the box has taken some damage. This is the 1980 printed red colored version, this deck was printed on 1979 and 1980, both times on red and gold. This is in my opinion the best looking deck Grimaud has printed and maybe one of the most underrated decks on the market when it comes to the design (the aces on this deck are among the best in my entire collection). The price is no way bad for an unopened great looking Grimaud, somebody should snatch this one up.

Thanks for those tips Roop. The English version of the Transsiberian Railway deck is sold. The Russian version is still available. I picked up one of the Icon Imperial decks. One is still available. The $88 includes shipping. I also picked up the Origins Black Label. That is hitting my pocketbook, but oh well. I missed it during the Kickstarter.

Unopened Red Greek deck from the 70s and Unopened Blue Greek deck from the 70s from the same seller for 14.99 USD per deck. I won an auction on a pair earlier today and I bought one more pair from him as he uploaded more for sale.

Don't know much about the decks, they seem to be printed by the company Aspioti Elka. Not a bad price for unopened poker sized vintage decks.

All decks made in Greece were "state monopoly" i.e. printed by the government or for the tax people. It just meant that you couldn't make decks without the tax stamp or at one point only the state printed them period. I don't remember the exact date, but these are not really rare - they all were that way until about 1960, of something like that. I have maybe a dozen different decks that actually are unusual, not just marked with government tax markings / stamps / wrap.

If you think about it, even British decks used to be this way. Either tax wrapped in a heavy bond or had the Ace of Spades missing, only available from the tax man.

Came across this listing for a vintage edition of this deck. Decent backs and courts, and it looks to be in reasonable condition for an opened deck; just doesn't strike my fancy. Bidding price is currently at $15, with $3.75 shipping within the US. If somebody on this forum but outside the US is interested let me know and we can probably work something out.

I own an Islenzk Spil deck, truly a gorgeous one. From what I've seen, the prices usually tend to be about 50-70 USD for an opened deck, making that one a really good find.

Somebody should buy it.

Great find Brad. The same seller also has the Sirens Diamond deck for 49,88 USD, which is a best price for it I have seen so far. Albertotosca68 from this forum has it for almost the same price at 45 €.

Although the Sirens Diamond edition is a completely unusable novelty deck, it sure is a gorgeous one.

A brick of unopened tax stamped bridge sized Bee decks for 29,99 USD  More than 10 available, 29 sold....? So this guy must have at least one gross of these if not more, his positive feedback is way too big for him to be a cheat.

Although the Sirens Diamond edition is a completely unusable novelty deck, it sure is a gorgeous one.
Holy crap, you're telling me that was actually worth something?! I was so disappointed when I opened mine that I actually threw it the trash... "unusable" is right.

I'm not trying to yuck anybody's yum here, I'm more just kicking myself for not thinking somebody else might've wanted the thing. Lesson learned, I guess.

Wtf is this? Did the creator print these at home and cut the cards with scissors?

I was trying to be kind and avoid unflattering comparisons to cereal box paperstock, but yeah. They weren't even cards so much as tiles. It was... not good.

Looking back at the campaign page, it looks like it was the third launch(!), after the first was unsuccessful and the second cancelled due to ¿shipping/manufacturing issues? I imagine telling backers, after all that, "look, we didn't get a product out of this that I'm happy with, I will substitute your choice of the MPC decks or refund your money" would've been a bitter pill to swallow, but I still think it would've been the right thing to do.

This seller in Singapore has Tally-Ho Viper Circle Back UV-500 Air Flow for 15,49 € per deck, two left. Also the same seller has Bicycle Guardians v1 for 11,13 €, more than 10 available.

In case that anyone is looking for those, well I'd say that about as good price that your going to get.

Sold for less than $30. Someone got a pretty good deal. Less than the KS price
