ORNATE Amethyst and Emerald

Unread post by RandyButterfield »

Hey Everyone,

The new ORNATES are Amethyst and Emerald!
The digital proofs have been approved. We'll have the physical proofs early next week and then it's up to USPCC for timing.

Besides the Tuck Boxes there's also a few other surprises with these versions. I'll wait to show those at a later time though.
The 8 normal Poker Chips are all the same as before, but we ABC be adding Purple and Green Dealer Buttons to go along
with the new Decks!

thanks, Randy

I like Emerald, not too big on Amethyst. But I already have the other 2 decks, and while they are very nice, I think there will need to be some changes besides the color to get me to buy more decks

oh my gosh, my "jewel tone series" wish is coming true! I wish I bought more of the sapphire and scarlet decks as I only got two of each. I second an onyx and orange topaz pair as well. (can't tell if badpete was sarcastic or not but i'm all for it.) Awesome 8-)

Hey Randy,

Will there be a coupon code available for the poker chips again?
I bought 500 last time but need more. Love these chips!

Thanks,

Lately, the trend seems to be color changes (Ace Fulton, S&M, Artifice, etc.). And if you ask me, they're all pretty boring. Except these. IMO, these will be the best set. Onyx and Topaz sound wicked cool... how about a Zirconium white version too? :)

These look awesome, Randy! The colors are so vibrant and the design is beautiful. Any idea of a release date?

Very nice but hopefully there won't be any more color variations after these.

I'm actually hoping there will be. There's so much potential for good looking color variations.

Randy used up all 4 suits for the 4 Ornate tuckbox, most probably the Ornate series is discontinued. However a Onyx black version would be cool :D

Still a few colors left from his poker chips. He did re-use the suits there.

I can't see this happening. I think Randy likes colours too much!

Sorry I didn't respond on here earlier. It was a crazy weekend with the family!

The last thing I want is to have a ton of ORNATE color versions to water it down! Back in November I put together a presentation with a bunch of ideas. We (HOPC and I) went through the ideas and narrowed them down to a plan that I think will result in a concise and well-rounded series, not just random colors thrown out there for kicks. (I probably sound like the writers from TV's Lost right now, but it's true! - no Smoke Monsters here!!)

@Sharpie - I'm glad you like the Chips! I don't know if there will be a coupon code for the Poker Chips this time around. I'll check with Gene at ABC and find out about that. If there is I'll definitely post about it here and my Facebook page.

@wsop_legacy - I'm sad to say one surprise that you might be hoping for isn't in the cards. The Ace of Spades has the same shape and design as the original ORNATE AOS. I personally love the ORNATE AOS, and even if I wasn't happy with it changing it with A&E would take it too far away from the ORNATE brand.

thanks, Randy

It's in the USPCC's hands now, so you never know. I'm realistically thinking mid-March, earlier if they're finished sooner.

thanks, Randy

Hey Randy

I agree with you about the AOS in terms of this particular brand. It should remain the same for consistency. Maybe you incorporate it on a future project.

It's the bigger surprise I'm highly anticipating. I've got a really good feeling this release is going to appeal to much larger groups of cards users. I don't expect the emerald deck to last too long once they are released.

Personally, as a long time collector, I really like the design and colors. Bold and intense, without being cartoon-like, and not washed out or visually unappealing. I like the tie-in with the gem world, but I also a gemstone collector as well. Double win for me! :-)
