I actually like these. If they're as good quality as their earlier Count of Monte Cristo+Three Musketeers I'll think about backing toward the end of the campaign.

Edit: I HATE SHORT CAMPAIGNS Not gonna happen for me. I've already got 2 card campaigns coming out the same day, can't justify another $50 flying out of my wallet.

It was a deck that USPC direct was going to make, but they made the red cup deck instead

Regarding my controversial unconventional court cards, I just updated the campaign page with the idea behind it though I'll paste it here as well. I'd like people to know what led me to do it this way, even if they aren't your cup of tea
"The different chess pieces are distributed among the court cards following a simple yet thought-out pattern. Though chess has produced many variations throughout the centuries, the most popular and widely known one is the two-player game, where each player starts with a set of 16 black or white pieces that represent 6 different classes or figures:

One King
One Queen
Two Bishops
Two Knights
Two Rooks
Eight Pawns

Taking into account that playing cards traditionally have 4 suits, I decided to join them by colors in order to represent both sides of a chess game: Black pieces are represented by Spades and Clubs, while the White pieces are represented by Hearts and Diamonds. Inside the Black and White houses, Spades and Hearts represent the royalty and clergy of a chess game while Clubs and Diamonds represent the military force and assets, which was traditionally formed by the middle and lower classes. This way, while bringing a new twist to the court cards distribution, I intend to stay true to the traditional meaning behind each suit, where Spades were believed to represent nobility, Hearts the clergy, Diamonds the merchants and Clubs the commoners and the peasantry. With all this in mind, the chess pieces are represented as follows:

Something I didn’t want to leave out was the number of pieces played in a game, and here’s where the unconventional one and two-way cards come into play: Since there are only one King and Queen played by each player, the four court cards that represent them are one-way, while the Bishop, Knight and Rook each are two-way since each player has two pieces per figure. The pawns, being the most numerous piece (8 per player), are represented as a two-way card depicting 8 figures in total."

I actually like these. If they're as good quality as their earlier Count of Monte Cristo+Three Musketeers I'll think about backing toward the end of the campaign.

I'll let you know for sure I sent the artwork for Gemmes to EPCC, now it's in the review and then the production process, I'll keep you updated on KS when there's something new. Were they uber expensive?

I think I could deal with it, except the foreshortening on the QoS's legs makes her look too short. Those bishops look really nice, though....

Don't know why there were so little discussion on these "back in the days" (yeah, I wasn't here yet)
But here's a review:

As you may recall from a previous update, when King's Game was produced, an excess of 500 decks without tucks was printed. This was because the minimum required by the factory to print cards with foiled backs was 1,000 decks. However, as promised, only 500 of these decks were distributed, leaving 500 tuck-less decks in the warehouse for years.

Since I could no longer store these decks at Gambler's Warehouse, I decided to proceed with the production of new tucks so that the excess cards could finally be distributed. The timeline is not 100% fixed, but they should be ready sometime next month.

I named this edition APEX, and it will be distributed through Murphy's Magic directly to different resellers worldwide. I don't have access to the information regarding resellers, but if you're interested in acquiring them, you are likely to find them in your habitual shops.

What does it mean? Does it mean she decided to end card projects completely? Or does it mean she is going to be active again but under a different name, like e.g. Riccardo did? I very much hope for the later since her illustration skills are awesome.
