Looking great!

I dream of a world where wars are fought only by having dance offs. I also dream that a Finnish playing card designer would exist. The former seems more likely to happend.
Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you a penguin. Have you ever met a sad person with a penguin?

Re: El Recuerdo Playing Cards
I really dislike the choice of font and the style of the pips. The one fo the left of the "Q" is different than the one to the lower left of the "Q"
Suggestion: You could try just the to the right of the "Q" on pip, like Stockholm 17 did on this last deck. Or try conventional, but what you have now doesn't work in my opinion.
The sketch is fantastic, as usual.

Re: El Recuerdo Playing Cards
The "Q's" to me look a bit squashed. And the smaller little Spade in front of the "Q", too much. Too busy. OTHER THAN THAT....Wow!!!

Re: El Recuerdo Playing Cards
The spade looks better. The "Q" doesn't.
Now on the skull on the right, the spades don't look the same either, as they are the old ones.

Re: El Recuerdo Playing Cards
I'm probably going to burn for this, but I like the first pip set up better.

Re: El Recuerdo Playing Cards
When I see the Q the number 8 jumps right out at me. Agree about having the wrong pips on the skulls too.
Move on, nothing to see here.

Re: El Recuerdo Playing Cards
I decided to use this font as it seems the most appropriate and the most authentic and close to those Spanish fonts that've been used in Mexico.

I love the new font!
Much, much better. Totally fits with the artwork and the period, as you say - and the artwork is fantastic!
I'm a huge fan of Dia de los Muertos motifs and artwork, so I love the skull details.

Re: El Recuerdo Playing Cards
I really like it, but for it to really really function as a deck I think the Spade pip needs to be under the Q as opposed to next to it.

I really like the new pip design. I still like the original one, but the new one is very well done.

The artist's command of faces is really quite awesome.

Very interested in this project, being Mexican-American myself. The artwork looks very good and I can't wait to see the final product!

Re: El Recuerdo Playing Cards
I would also like to know what's been going on with this deck. Excited to see the final product.
Also, that Queen of Spades reminds me of Ana Cheri. Beautiful!

Re: El Recuerdo Playing Cards
It's a good looking box, given that the gold areas are going to have foil in them.
I would like to see more of the courts in color and also the Aces and the Jokers. This looks like a great project so far.
