Dance of death
Dear forum users, the idea arose to create a deck on the theme book of the 17th century "Dance of Death." Here is the first outline of the map, express your opinion. Thank you. Work on maps based on Hans Holbein the Younger. "Dance of Death", 1524-1526 completely changed. Now the basic idea lies at the basis of the interaction between high cards.

WOW!
I LOVE the artwork, but I think a 2 way card would work much better. These 2 images should be on 2 different cards

Re: Dance of death
I'm fine with two characters illustrated on the same card. I don't like the hard line dividing them. I'd prefer to see it seamlessly transition from one character to the other.

Re: Dance of death
As an example, take a look at how this project handled the same theme:
Oh, and please don't be discouraged that someone else did the same theme: your artwork has a different style, and as such, I'm sure will attract interest. Just ask the many people on this board who have added more than one Dia de las Muertos deck to their collection. Or steam punk. Or Cthulu...

Thank you very much for your feedback. As you can see, my works differ from those provided by you. I, for that, and put on public display on this forum my work, to hear the opinion of the side, more experienced people. And also get hints and tips. My goal is to go for kickstarter

Re: Dance of death
Can you do something to link the living person to the death like have the death hold a decayed fan the living woman is holding? Or is the "dance" their holding hands?
Move on, nothing to see here.

Re: Dance of death
Thanks for asking. The main task is that whatever you are and how you live death is always somewhere near. The idea was taken from the work of Holbein, where this meaning is conveyed. This is only the first outline of the map, and there is still discussion of how best to express the main idea of this idea. So with pleasure I want to hear advice and sound observations on these maps.

Re: Dance of death
Personally I love the one-way design.
Sure 2-way is more functional, but that's not what this deck is aiming for. THe artwork is very good, and the transition between the two halves (all too often a hard break or obscured by some object) is masterful.
I'm looking forward to seeing more!

I don't mind that there is no pot to base the tree/flower. I think it might look odd on death's side.
Give it a try though, it might look good.

Re: Dance of death
Welcome back!
Are you familiar with the Moirai deck?
You should take a look at it on Kickstarter. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/we ... ying-cards Similar theme, done very well, although with a very different style.
Edit: See also, Solemn Oath: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=11890. And also, Undeath: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ka ... c?ref=card
Again, your style is different from theirs, but this should give you a sense of how others are approaching this theme. I look forward to seeing how your project evolves!

Thank you very much for the advice. I would like to start a new topic on my cards.rousselle wrote:Welcome back!

Since the new deck I'm working on is significantly different from the previous one.

Re: Dance of death
In late January, I plan to go to Kickstarter. I would be glad to have good advice on the deck and your opinions. Here is one option for the joker. Which one looks better the inscription "joker" 1,2,3,4

Re: Dance of death
I would prefer Joker 4. But then again, with the full art effect you're going for this deck, why have the joker obscure the card? Perhaps put it on the upper left corner instead?

Thank you for the recommendation. We have a joker in action, he stabs someone. For this, I left the static option.

Re: Dance of death
Right now, my only feedback is that I don't like the different sized pips on the number cards.
